wtf. I got a self-assessment tax statement from HMRC which I don't quite understand, so I rang their helpline, the number for which is on the statement. What I get is a recorded message saying that the helpline is now turned off until September, and pointing me at the "digital assistant". This digital assistant appears to be a chatbot which does keyword search on my question and responds with irrelevant and barely helpful links. This is not help, HMRC. No love for you at all.
