@MattMerk @dolari @flockofnazguls there's upscaled and re-renders by fans on YouTube that blow the mind
@MattMerk @dolari @flockofnazguls and I can't thank you and the team enough for doing it.
Assume you're aware of b5scrolls.com - recently rediscovered and spent hours reading!
@falken I did very little on B5, and was a much more influential team member on SPACE: ABOVE AND BEYOND, the show I did right after.

@MattMerk @dolari @flockofnazguls You did? Wow! SAAB was so underrated ...
@MattMerk @flockofnazguls - It's really impressive to see how they went from the fairly primitive (but for the time, great) shots in the first season to the some really amazing shots in the later ones. I remember JMS saying they were using tricks like "I need this scene PACKED with ships, so as soon as the you hit the wall of what you can do, as soon as a ship goes off screen, start rendering a new one coming into frame."
@dolari Computers were getting faster, which was a big help. We all moved from rendering on Amigas to rendering on DEC Alpha machines that had a lot more memory and much faster processors.
I remember playing the game Elite Dangerous a few years back and thinking it sometimes took hours per frame to render spaceships on B5 that didn't even look this good.
Now doing that in real time is taken for granted, and even expected.

@falken I've seen some of it, and it's truly great. We rendered those VFX shots on Amiga computers with 32 Megabytes of RAM (Yes MEGAbytes), 16 color texture maps, no graphics hardware--everthing renderered on the CPU. It truly was a miracle.
