Today I started looking at immich and then photoprism (as a replacement for Google photos).
But then I got side tracked upgrading a couple of VMs and trying out unbound for DNS.
Perhaps tomorrow ....
@TheGingerDog not Piwgo or Nextcloud (optionally with Memories extension) ?
@TheGingerDog immich basically days "do not use" on home page.
@TheGingerDog and photoprisim says "AI" in first sentence of description so automatically fails "bollocks" check.
Vs Piwgo which has been around since Gallery2 folded and does Just One Thing Well. Or Nextcloud which is EU funded and does a bunch of other shit too
@falken I was wondering if pwigo was gallery based or not but nothing jumped out at me. Anyway thanks for pointing me at it - I'll definitely give it a go.
@TheGingerDog I imported my G2 into Piwgo and carried on. Seems solid between them for over a decade of photos.
@TheGingerDog nextcloud we already use for laptop backup, so reusing as a 2nd less public gallery and mobile photo backup made sense
@falken I've no experience of any of them - the immich demo site looked great and it's been discussed on a few podcasts lately - which is why I started thinking of it first.
