Every town should have a cable depot where everyone brings the cables they aren't using and they sort, test, and store them, and when you need some random cable you simply drop by the cable depot to pick it up. And if they don't have it they'll request it from the next town over, like inter library loans.
@TheSpaceshipper more like the starship they get there in, no?
"Scientific pitch was originally proposed in 1713 by French physicist Joseph Sauveur and based on the numerically convenient frequency of 256 Hz for middle C,"
@freemo @tatzelbrumm of your instrument didn't sound like your peers, you'd tune the odd one out to match. Factor in traveling musicians and it settles to a standard.

I'll let you know when I can afford $750 for one (1) version—or $500 for a version targeting a CPU architecture that hasn't been widely used in 20 years—that doesn't even let you distribute programs :P

I just came across this strange object which is displayed in the scanner as a "green" blip, just as regular space stations are. Could this be a rock hermit? Do these even exist in the C64 version?!
I switched to Firefox a few weeks ago and it was remarkably painless for something absolutely critical that I need to work reliably, with zero additional friction, every single day.
I cannot stress how low-hassle it is to switch from Chrome to a browser with a business model that doesn't rely on tracking you.
Do it.
Speaking of AI art models...
If we take the use of copyrighted images out of the equation, let's say hypothetically that a new model, trained only on the art of consenting artists and the public domain, could produce as good art as Midjurney currently does...
Do you think it is still morally and ethically wrong to use it?
