there are full on riots. A police response is not only expected, its the correct thing to do.
With that said it will likely escalate things further so .. i dunno we will see. Thats how civil war looks (assuming it keeps going)... you expect the other side to defend themselves.

Here's a good thread on the actual science behind policing without unnecessary violence and abuse.
This topic seems to be well-researched with evidence-based solutions which *do* work in places where they were implemented.
Obviously, due to the fact that US is a federal republic, these policies are implemented selectively in different areas, and you never see the good examples in media...
@freemo @OrganicNectar96 To be fair protesters who are violating the law by disobeying curfew are asking to get pushed out. And if enough people in a crowd assault law enforcement, they will start dispersing the crowd and going after protesters and rioters alike.
Rioters ruin the protests for everyone.
