@freemo Is it possible to avoid Markdown parsing of usernames?

I just realised I have sent a Markdown reply to someone whose username parsed to cursive and now I don't know if it reached him.

@josemanuel Can you explain a bit better what you mean.. where does the formatting happen that you want to prevent? Are you suggesting when you write a reply to someone the username is formatted inside the edit box itself where you @ them?

@freemo I don't know if the formatting is done inside the edit box itself, because I only noticed it when I sent the message, but I assume it is.

The username had this format: @_username_@whatever. When I re-read the message, I noticed markdown had been applied to it. This was the message: qoto.org/@josemanuel/106046190

@josemanuel ahh ok I see what you mean now... yea that is an unintentional bug.

@freemo It's not a big deal. I can be careful from now on, but thanks in advance for looking it up.
