@freemo @doot I am concerned that UFoI can be a target for entities who are against Fediverse. Even though it is started as a loose bind it can grow into an entity from which leaving can be difficult. Worse, if people view a UFoI membership as a gold standard. This will create a central entity with a power hold over others, which will be a target.
Fair concerns... as a democratic entity the best way to ensure that doesnt happen is to encourage good-actors to join, especially early on. If good actors boycott it you could very well get a beast
That said because the bylaws have a 2/3rd vote to change them as long as we can get good bylaws as a starting point, with good actors, it should be hard to change for the worse, I hope.
