I have absolutely no problem with ALL members of Congress and the Senate making their tax returns available for public scrutiny.

I appreciate that may be the political equivalent of an ice bath for many legislators. So maybe a good place to start would be a non-political independent audit body?

Sunlight is the best disinfectant for corruption. I suspect the pooing of pants would not be limited to Republicans, but so be it.

I doubt that would help, you can hide a lot in your tax returns if you dont itemize.
