This is BIG. A new study in the Journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, has highlighted a regret rate of only 0.3% for gender-affirming surgeries.

To put that into context, the regret rate for knee replacements is around 20% and plastic surgery can be up to 65%. Gender-affirming surgery... 0.3% 🤷

@GenderGP Thats not what the study says at all.. It says only 0.3% of people got procedures afterwards to reverse the surgery... that is **not** the same as saying they didnt regret it.

That said the regret rate does tend to be relatively low (not that low, but low). At least based on other studies I read.

To put some numbers to it, the measured regret rate from what I've seen among the studies is about 1% - 2.5%. However its important to note only about 24% of patients report detransitioning to their doctors. So the actual value may be as high as 10%. but as you said even if it is on the high end this is relatively low.
