@realcaseyrollins Shouldnt your use cases literally be everything you use your windows for?
@realcaseyrollins Work on setting up your linux laptop to run windows software through wine then?
@freemo I'd consider it if the laptop wasn't an ancient #Lenovo #Thinkpad T410 that came with #WindowsXP lol
@realcaseyrollins You might be surprised just how fast linux runs on ancient hardware :)
@freemo I'm generally aware of how well #Linux runs on limited hardware, but 1) #Firefox on #Linux has severe hardware acceleration bugs that causes CPU bottlenecks if your computer isn't powerful enough and 2) I do stuff like disc ripping and transcoding on my main computer. While it's technically doable on the #Linux laptop--and I am working on installing software to use to play #DVD discs since it has a built-in drive--those processes would take years to complete. Plus I make #iTunes rips of my purchases as well and that software only runs on #Windows.
@freemo Well more of less, except I primarily use my #Windows10 desktop computer. I do many of the same things on my #Linux laptop, but only in scenarios where using a laptop makes sense.
One of the big things is, I don't know how much compatibility the #Linux distro I have has with the school's software I'm using for my online classes, and since school is rather important I don't wanna risk screwing up my homework submissions by using #Linux
