@realcaseyrollins I think you have that backwards... you mean following the news they lost nearly a billion dollars to a lawsuit that proves they blatantly lie in (at least some) of their news.... Tucker carlson resigning cause he felt he was to blame for it is ikinda secondary to that.

@realcaseyrollins

I mean when the settlement was first announced the stock dropped almost instantly by 3%.. now that Tucker resigned it dropped almost immediately by another 5%. So I'd say its like tuckers resignation fueling it to go even lower, but still a result of the case I'm sure. His resignation alone wouldnt be nearly as impactful otherwise.

@freemo I'm pretty sure the impact would be the same. #TuckerCarlson is by far the most popular and successful figure in cable news.

@realcaseyrollins He is certainly popular, and no doubt there would have been some impact alone. But being found in court to lie to the tune of 1 billion is going to have pretty wide spread impact.

@freemo And yet, it caused a smaller dent than #TuckerCarlson's departure.

One of these events is a one-time sunk cost. The other events is a likely perpetual reduction of income. From a stockholder's standpoint, the sunk cost can be recovered from, but you never know how long those perpetual losses will last
