@LouisIngenthron I could certainly get into collecting guns as antiques, I could see the fun in this.
In this case my life is in danger so it serves a purely functional purpose.
@freemo If your life is in danger however and you think the protection will be for at-home, I'd recommend a shotgun over a rifle. Preferably a 12-gauge if you can handle that.

I went with a judge, its a shotgun and a handgun :) I decided the handgun format means ill be in hand and aimed much quicker than a shotgun, but since it takes bullets and/or shotgun shells I could still get the benefit of a shotgun.
@freemo That firearm also works. If .45 LC hollow points are available I'd roll with those. Otherwise a shotgun if you ever have to defend yourself in a public space might cause collateral damage.
@Flatulenator My plan is to load alternativing shotgun shells and hollow points in The Judge, use that as my first line of defense.. my HK VP9 will be my conceal carry
