Not if you actually calculate the historic numbers. Comes out to a bit better than 1 in 12... do the math we have had 46 elections and 8 times a party has switched to a primary party.
@barney you can find it in my tineline where i list every tine in us history where a third party becomes a primary party. The coubt was 8.. the math isnt hard to do.
Veering even more sharply into either frank psychosis or transparent inauthenticity.
The last president who was not a Democrat or Republican was Millard Fillmore, a Whig, in 1850. Cornel West is not a Whig. He has almost no constituency. He's polling around 2%.
There is no chance that he'll win. However, it's rational for you to vote for him anyway, because, as you said, Biden and Trump are equivalent to you, and you don't care which one wins.
@barney i do care which one wins between biden and trunp... i just care less about that than i do seeing a third party take enough of a share to displace one of the two main parties. That woukd do far more for america, so thats what i vote for. And again its happened 8 times, so the odds are good enough to be worth the risk.
As for the number of tines a third party won, that isnt what we are measuring. We are measuring the number of tines a third party became a primary party. Different math your doing
No. You have no preference, between Democrats or Republicans, and you're explaining WHY.
You're telling every woman "I don't care if you die from a routine miscarriage." You're telling every gay person "I don't care if your mere existence as a human being becomes illegal next year." You're telling every Black person "I don't care if you're never able to vote again. The REASON I don't care is, the Democrats do certain unspecified things that I think are equally evil."
To get back to the topic of discussion:
Republicans are forcing women to suffer and die from routine pregnancy complications, but Dems protect women's health care rights.
The OP said Dems haven't offered voters anything important to vote for. So, the OP is saying, women's lives (and other Dem positions) aren't important.
This is the position of every 3rd-party voter. They have every right to feel that way, and to say so publicly, as the OP did.
It is ludicrously absurd to suggest that a 3rd-party candidate has a 1-in-12 chance of winning the 2024 election, just because it used to happen sometimes in the 1800s.
Historically, 9% of US presidents wore powdered wigs. Does that mean there's a 1-in-11 chance that the president elected in 2024 will be a powdered wig wearer? Obviously not.
I'm now pretty sure that Dr. Freemo's wildly bizarre falsehoods are conscious lies, rather than products of psychosis or extreme ignorance.
@freemo
Here you veer sharply into either frank psychosis or transparent inauthenticity. I can't yet discern which one.
