I am glad these vaccines are available, but I will probably skip taking this round. I took the original #COVID vaccines when COVID was ravaging the planet, plus boosters.

I also took numerous vaccines for other diseases for travel. I might take one for rabies in the future if I go on a Safari, but I have no desire to take another vaccine unless it’s absolutely necessary.

@darnell Sadly COVID vaccine are a bit like tetnus. The vaccine will likely require you to retake it periodically. Without it after a few yours your probably no better off than the unvaxxed.

@freemo @darnell Not exactly pro vaxx here but I’d have to agree on this take here, since the virus keeps mutating.

@realcaseyrollins @darnell

Its not hte virus mutating that causes it, that obviously is a factor that can make it worse. But the issue is actually the human immune response, it becomes attenuated itself in this case, same with tetnus, its the same virus you just loose immunity over time.

For the record all viruses of the cornovirus sub-type (which includes several that cause the common cold) have this effect. Its part of the reason why a cold vaccine has never been an option.

@realcaseyrollins @freemo I will take it if I have to, but I do not like the side effects as it makes me super tired & gives me a hunger for meat (well, the latter is not too bad I guess 😂).

@freemo @darnell where I'm from the local health authorities says if you're an healthy adult you don't need to take any more vaccines.
