I was going to say there seems to be two ways to get more contacts... 1) check in on the app often, IIRC people who were more recently online are ranked higher 2) just swipe right on everyone till you max it out every day, then see who you match, and only respond to the ones you actually like.
I kinda dont recommend #2 just cause it might cause a lot of people to be sad... but im pretty sure its what everyone does, swipe first, consider post-match.
Have you tried being attractive? I heard once some ladies might go for that :)
Them nordic woman, lol. I dated a good deal in the Netherlands..Wonderful women, beautiful, tall, down to earth, well rounded... quite amazing in many ways.. but they also know their worth :)
