I really hope we never reach the point where someone implements a way to silence OTHER people from having an opinion about your post... You have every right to decide what you see, you have no right to decide what other people can see. If i want to see what people have to say about your comment, I should be able to, and you should be powerless to stop me.
One thing that I don't like about Mastodon is that I can't edit the replies to my post. So, if someone replies to something I said with a non sequi...
This is moderation feature from old forums/blogs/news sites, it was used to clean unrelated stuff i guess when discussion was intended to strictly follow the topic.
Looks like friendica have it, but it will only delete the post for yourself if i understand it correctly

Yea mastodon has that too, all services would let you delete it for yourself. But others viewing the thread can still see it,a s they should.
In frendica you are able to nuke whatever post for you personally even if you are not mod 😀
