> Which instances are allowed to have an opinion here and who decides?

Anyone currently garunteed by a sponsor on the chain of trust automatically is added themselves to the chain of trust. Likewise they can now add others.

The only person who can kick someone out of the system is the person who garunteed you, they can revoke their garuntee. At which point you can ask for a garuntee from anyone else int he chain and only 1 person needs to support you.

So its largerly a decentralized open system with no one dictator.

> Are Poast and Pawoo allowed to recommend and censure others?

No one from the chain of trust has garunteed them though. Sinc ethe criterial for chain of trust is "not spam" I would expect Pawoo would be accepted but Poast would likely not get in.

> What about Disqordia? And dotArt?

No clue about these off hand.

> If a large group of censor-happy instances coordinate to censure someone they don’t like, suddenly your 5 person instance is considered mega-racist. The “dark fedi” instances can do the same.

sure, thats the beauty of a chain of trust... IF the viewer doesnt like someone int he chain of trust he can label them as "censured" at which point, you would eliminate that whole section of the chain for you (as I understand it)... so that sort of action has no effect.
