It's #BannedBooksWeek. With the increase in book banning over last year, we all need to fight for the freedom to read what we want.
Go to your local library. Get involved in local school board meetings.
Ask questions. Fight bans. Stand up for marginalized groups that are most often the targets of bans on books.
Please take action. #LetFreedomRead

Here’s one easy way to do something right now.
Use PEN America’ easy tool to write to your state legislators and ask them to oppose book bans. In honor of Banned Books Week, let’s all send one, even if our legislators are strong in this area. It’s important that everyone in office know that we want them to make this a central point.

Actually there has been some research lately that makes that a bit suspect. They found all the recent book bans we hear about in person lately actually can be traced back to a very small number of people. Suggesting very few people are campaigning (successfully) to ban books.
