@freemo That's where meditating comes in. Don't pay attention to the mystic stuff, just sit there and empty your mind. It will come up with good ideas if you let it.
@admitsWrongIfProven I am a big fan of medication, both with and without the "mystic stuff" :)
@freemo Lol, i just now noticed. Was this autocorrect or did you actually mean to say "medication"?
@admitsWrongIfProven autocorrect, should be meditation.
@freemo Did you manage to push the outside back and just exist?
Not sarcastic here, i am very interested in how others experience meditation, even "my butt itched" would be something i want to hear.
If we cannot influence the world, maybe we can influence ourselfs to not experience it so much.
@admitsWrongIfProven Not sure if you are describing theta or delta stage to be honest... Usually in theta your mind will be mostly off except youll be able to observe your subconcious activity, except you wont engage with it. In Delta you usually have more imagery and can manipulate photo realistic imagery in delta stage.
@freemo I never tried to engage in named stages.
For me, it was a revalation that i could push the nagging, always present thoughts aside, and just exist without expectations.
This enabled some thoughts in me, as you know i am easily all over the place, it made me focus on what was relevant at the time.
So, it might be disappointing to you that i cannot name the stages, but my experience was a control over before unseen expectations, pushing aside what had kept me from doing what i needed to do.
Can you relate? Just now writing this, i am debating if i should emerge myself more in this, as the perceived lack of agency (that i have) might be something to feed to this undistracted power within.
If you put value into exploring the delta/theta thing, please say so. I perceived it as your way of expressing, and i do not understand, i will put effort into understanding if you say it is important - but i would need that expression to do so.
There arent that many stages, they are just useful when talking to people
You have you have:
Beta/wakeful - when you are alert and awake
alpha - Relaxed but awake or eye closed, thoughtful but generally relaxed
Theta - Your mind is mostly inactive except for the subconscious which will be relatively inactive as well.. this state is closest to nothingness.
Delta - You will become hyper aware of your subvconscious, will hear it talk and think, and its imagery will invoke photo realistic imagery for you
REM-like, basically deep end of Delta- Dream-like state. Though in meditative states it should remain somewhat lucid.
@admitsWrongIfProven I can never predict how my interests will wax and wane day to day... especially when im so busy. But discussion is always welcome.
@freemo As long as you are truthful in your reactions, i do not see any problem. I wish for many things, but all of them include consent.
