Is that a device that doesnt allow you to charge it other than handccrank? Or does it have both? What sort of play time you get on some crankling?

@tsia_

@freemo @tsia_ The crank is being used to control the games. The battery is actually quite small at 700mAh, but the screen isn’t backlit (but super-reflective, so it doesn’t look dim) so it saves a lot of power when not in use. With one charge you’ll get up to 8 hours of playtime and 1 week of standby time. Here is an introductionary video about the device, explained by the people behind @playdate themselves: yt.koyu.space/watch?v=HdF3CnFv

@freemo @tsia_ @playdate Yes, so just to be clear: no, you charge the device using the USB-C port

@koyu

Right. Its the e-ink display made me think it was so low power onsumption you could hancrank it.. still cool though.

@tsia_ @playdate

@freemo @tsia_ @playdate It’s not even e-Ink. It’s a Sharp Memory 1-bit LCD screen.
