@trinsec I **wish** someone would steal it now :)
@freemo@qoto.org So that you'd finally have a valid reason to call 112 when someone dares to gaze at that visage? 😋
Oh wait, usa.. right, 911 then!
@trinsec 911? We dont do that here, we have guns :)
@freemo@qoto.org Oh, you finally wanted to use your silly toys?
Gotta disappoint you there, because you'd likely have to do CPR first. 😋
@trinsec I get to play with my toys every week :)
@freemo@qoto.org Not quite relevant as that's not on people.
@trinsec Me and my friends like to shoot at eachother for fun while the other person tries to hide. We call it american hide and seek.
@freemo@qoto.org Dude, are we talking about paintball?
@trinsec Similar, although we dont need paint with all the blood.
@freemo@qoto.org Uhuh, how the fuck are you still alive? 😋 Or still have friends left? 😋
@trinsec I make new friends easily, also I'm a good aim :)
@freemo I keep being intrigued by ePaper devices, but outside of simple book reading I haven't managed to find a use-case for them. How do you use it?
@darth I bought this primarily for reading books, and that is where they shine. That said its a full android 12 device and good for anything a regular android device is good for. The two main advantages (which arent limited to reading books):
1) works great when there is light around without any backlit. Using it in bright sunlight is a far superior expiernce than a traditional screen.
2) Significantly reduced battery usage
@freemo I have Kindle and I use it a lot so I am familiar with eInk screen benefits. The question was more directed into the attempt to persuade myself that I need a BOOX device. But I don't really think I do. ![]()
@darth In that case I'd think of it like this:
It is a regular tablet that is meant to excel for use out doors.
I got it largely because I like to do tablet stuff (and laptop stuff) in the woods or on a mountain peak or outside of a cafe... I enjoy th sun and wind, and if possible I like to work in it.
If you want to be able to work outside on beatufil days then a e=ink display is a must IMO as they are the only display that works int he sun.
@freemo I have a laptop with a shit ton of nits that works well enough in the sunlight but battery life is abysmal (as in very bad) when I crank up the brightness to max.
@darth Well this thing is like 2 days with near constant use... so battery life is much better too if thats a concern (when im outdoors I try to bring power or be near a plug if I can)
@darth keep in mind they actually advertise this thing as closer to a computer... has 8x 2.8ghz cores IIRC. Which seems weird since it runs android. It is more powerful than most people need.
@freemo@qoto.org Well.....
At least it's a great theft deterrant?
