@Hyolobrika Actually now that you post this I do vaguely remember reading about this once.
That phrase has since been adopted as a legitimate statement in computer science where we say "two plus two equals five... for sufficiently large values of 2"
The only time I can think of where maths was politicised was fictional. “2 + 2 = 5” in 1984
