In case anyone is interested here is a link to a very difficult logic puzzle that anyone without math skills can solve (it is easy to understand though). I also include the answer with a CW for those who want to skip right to the answer.

Kina excited, my Protowaffle project is in the process of making its first Sale to an electronics retailer. Just waiting to hear how many they will buy. Lets hope it is a big sale

Also still offering free samples If anyone wants some free samples let me know, here is some info on it: protowaffle.com

A little tutorial I wrote explaining the Verhurst Equation (restricted logarithmic growth) as well as my own addition on this idea, modeling an artificial injection.

The equation is traditionally used to model the growth of a population (such as animals or bacteria) over time. In this write I actually use it to model advertisement and idea proliferation in a society.

A little post I did explaining how to use a template project I created or to write your own that compiles markdown into custom PDF while still allowing you all the flexibility of any custom latex you want. I provide an example in the post.

If all the knowledge possible were represented as a black universe and a growing sphere of light represents what you know in that universe, then what you know you dont know would be the boundary between the light and dark, the perimeter. As that sphere grows so does the area of its boundary between light and dark.

Recently uploaded a copy of a book I was writing to help teach RF/AC circuit analysis. I never did finish it but the first few chapters I wrote has some really useful explanations. Anyone trying to learn electronics should take a look.

The Discourse server now has support for rendering Latex style psuedocode in posts.

Check out this post I just made explaining an algorithm I invented some years back. It includes the java code, psuedocode, and full text explanation.

I will do a seperate post soon explaining how to use the psuedocode in posts.

Now that the Discourse server is fully working, including the math rendering, I can start adding some content to it.

For my first post I wanted to share a tutorial I wrote on how to do frequency-domain nodal analysis on electronic circuits.

Here is the link:

It amazes me all the alarmism over the Amazon Fires lately. As someone who is a huge advocate of the environment and eco-friendly policies even I can easily dismiss the alarmism on this one with a little research.

Before I say what I'm about to say on this I want to point out, climate change is real, deforestation is a big issue, and the loss of life here (human and otherwise) deserves mourning.

With that said a few things.
1) This fires are not unusual in number or size in any way. Forest fires throughout the amazon and the rest of the world occur at this magnitude every single year during the dry season. In fact if we look at the past 15 years this year is not particularly high in any way.

2) Forrest fires, both intentional and natural are in fact good for the planet and eco system assuming their scale is not unusually high (which these are not). In fact they are BETTER than not having fires. The reason for this is forrest fire produce extremely nutrient rich soil that causes very fast growth the following year with high density. Sinc enew forests produce more O2 than old forests this is a good thing. Furthermore the ecosystems are evolved to need forest fires. Many trees can only spread their seeds during a forest fire.

Being a Data Scientist I feel compelled to back this up. I can think of many sources I could use from showing the fire map time lapse for the last 2 decades or other visualizations. But I think the best summary is the graph I attached to this post. You will see total CO2 emissions in brazil due to forest fires. This data is up to date as of this week. It is evident that the total mass of fires is not unusual high relative to the past 15 years. In fact it is actually much lower than the average during the previous decade.

The truth is the statistics aren't usually wrong. But more often than not people draw the exact opposite conclusion than they should from statistics because they aren't trained int he fallacies. We see this in almost every area of politics and it the central reason that democracy based politics fail, because people are really shitty at creating actionable solutions from data, even when that data seems clear.

After the country made vaccines illegal vaccine related death declined. In fact if you compare all countries where vaccines are illegal you will find vaccine related death is almost non existent. But in other countries where vaccines are legal vaccine related death is in the hundreds every year. I think this clearly shows why vaccines kill and should be made illegal.

This is what people who are anti-gun sound like. Do they even realize how absurd and how much lack of understanding they have when it comes to interpreting data and statistics?

So far on we have brought the following services up, I want to know what you want to see next. All of these services are free and open to the public for open-source and collaborative non-commercial ventures.

Here is what we have up so far:

Modified server - qoto.org

server - cloud.qoto.org

GitLab server - git.qoto.org

Servers we intend to bring up:

Let me know which of the above you'd like to see next. Also if you have a suggestion of a service we didnt list let me know and we might just host it for you if it would be useful for others.

Big things happening at I wanted to update everyone on.

So as most of you know I had a year long back injury that put a lot of QOTO plans on hold. But I've been healed and working on bringing much of that vision to reality.

As of a few weeks ago a few close friends and fellow engineers wanted to join the team. I am currently sitting with 3 other new engineers and we are working on bringing up several instances including peertube, nextcloud, gitlab, discourse, and of course a newer version of QOTO. A full collaboration suite for others in STEM and the open-source community. All for free to its users.

This launch will coincide with several of my other projects many of you follow including protowaffle, ROES, Graphactor, Aparapi, Ferma and many others. We will host all the source on QOTO as well as make it the source for future software announcements related to those products.

Stay tuned for me.
