The only real way to prevent ballot stuffing is to ensure the users are active and have some reasonable assurances of identity... this is an open discussion. One way to do this is to be a voting member you need to "register" witht he UFoI, which will entail your system admin vouching for you, and you using keyoxide to identify yourself and used to ensure you dont have dupicate accounts.

There are concerns with this approach 1) only technically oriented people who can use PGP can vote 2) people who want to be reasonably anonymous wont be able to vote.

The exact process for voting is one of those things I can think of a doen ways to do each with its own pros and cons and will need to be discussed among the group I think rather than dictated to them.

Individual users will vote, the counsel will mediate the voting... This is neccesary since a small instance can have the same vote as a large so it needs to be weighted by users and not just at an instance level.

We have had 3 more instances sign up to the United Federation of Instances in the last 24 hours or so.

Still around 200K members but I really am getting excited at all this momentum.

Setup a cool little verified link system too where members of the UFoI can add a verified link to their profile.

If you are an instance admin and want to join, whether your instance is 1 user or 100000, just let me know, as long as you follow our code of ethics I can add you and you will show as a founding member on the website once we launch.

There are also plugins that let you modify the CSS of pages.. you could use one to modify the CSS to increase the font selectively too. We could add a custom high-visibility theme too but that would take time.
