@GeePawHill It would be soooo simple to fix too, I just dont get it.. Once I built a physical device that just goes inline on the audio cable and it provided dynamic level control.. it was a fun analog project... If your interested I can show you it running in a simulator online, its kinda cool.
@bushgrad Ive explained the reasons for all of our decisions many times, happy to do so again... but first I need to know what you mean about branding instances and limiting the liverty of users to access ours... You mean by letting our users import block lists if they want to or you talking about something else?
Someone really needs to build some sort of logarithmic volume filter into linux... a way to keep the normal volume scenes loud enough to hear but reduce the volume on the loud scenes. This way you can listen to a movie in the middle of the night and not annoy your neighbors and not need to keep lowering it everytime an action scene hits.... how is this not a thing already!

As for motivated for profit? Who? What are you even talking about. We have pretty strict rules at QOTO of no commercial activity of any kind, profit is specifically forbidden....

@markwyner As a scuba diver I can say, suprisingly, there has been a lot of coral regrowth in the past few years... Areas of the maldives for example show similar transitions.

@peterdrake The instance you are refering to isnt in the UFoI though.. they applies, were in tentatively, once reviewed they were found to be bad actors and immediately removed, all within minutes... people are trying to use this as amunition. As such we modified the process where we can no longer be transparent about tentative members and instead wont mention a new member until fully vetted and after launch.
Usually id need context to answer. Your question was direct enough i dont think it was needed to answer.
It usually is.. people are touchy considering the constant barrage of attacks that sounded a lot like what you were expressing.. given the situation people are noticably snippy.
