@thor In that case that is true of everywhere.. Even in the USA christmas eve is the day you celebrate christmas day you relax and maybe hang out with friends.

I find it a bit concerning how mastodon talks about their software and new features as if they exist in a vaccum. They talk about implementing a QT feature and forcing people to opt-in or not... Meanwhile the rest of the fediverse has had the QT feature since forever, including modified mastodon instances. We already have a standard, no you cant force opt-in.. .either implement it or dont, you cant force other software to block a feature just because you on your server didnt "opt-in". Its literally equivelant to a link to the original post...

@TEG The QT feature is already implemented and widely used. It just isnt in gargron's version of the code.. it already is not an opt-in or opt-out thing... anyone who is on a server with the feature can do it.

It is also literally equivelant to putting a link at the end of a post, so its kinda silly people are arguing about this at all.

QOTO, a mastodon flavor, has had this feature for many years now.

@lucifargundam

As someone who gets his psychology advice from social media this is very useful to know. Thank you.

@doliu666

@freemo he drinks sherry over here. After a few tens of million sherries and mince pies he is 100000000% over the drink drive limit.

@trinsec North American Aerospace Defense Command .. the guys who track actual military airspace. They are the only people with the radar tech to track something as small as santa.

A jewish friend tried to lie to me today and tell me santa doesnt exist... WHO EATS THE COOKIES AND MILK!!!! He clearly had no idea what he was talking about... Even norad tracks him!

In my head cannon Family matters is a seaqual to Die Hard and take place in the same universe . Sgt Powell from Die Hard changes his name and moves to hide after the events of Die Hard in witness protection and becoming Carl Winslow letting him continue to work in the police force.

@ZingerLearns

Im not sure the geography has muchg an effect on how "extreme" it is, though it may suggest what "normal" is. Im not even sure the type of gun matters (though if its illegal that is kinda suggestive though).

I think what matters more is the why. If someone collects them as they would coins or stamps it isnt extreme no matter what you have, after all its resellable, perhaps at a profit.

Now if your collecting guns to start a war or raise an army against the government then yea, you are probably extreme.

@Gaythia

@Gaythia

What do we mean when we say "gun extremism"? I think many may disagree on what constitutes extreme in the first place

@ZingerLearns

@TheOldGuy generally the republicans are much easier on the wallet. So no surprise.

@TheOldGuy where is here? Frankly despite being center leaning left i have tk wonder if that isnt better than the infighting.

@TheOldGuy This is true... its just sad the the number of crazies on the left are starting to look like its begining to match the ones on the right, and thats scary.
