@eddie1perez or we can do what those other coubtries did and ban gubs, and trade a dozen school shootings for hubdreds of thousands rapes and murders.

The truth is we see almost every time when guns are bans violent acts of all kinds skyrocket... the trade is most certainly not worth it.

My girlfriend is from thailand and never expiernced much american culture... so naturally as a nerd first thing i had her donwas watch star wars... we watch the first episode of the original movies and she was really into it and she was all exvited trying to figure out who princess leia was goi g to wind up with... lolol cant wait till she finds out ;)

@pch_xyz i ubderstand how this happens. Too many people and no room to build infrstructure

@sj_zero that is surprising as well. I always had this mental image of it being very hard to get by with english in asian coubtries. Im learning quickly that, at least here, that is not the case.

@freemo I mean as a brazilian
The country of Brazil is not really different

@Sp id love to visit brazil too... always assumed the movie was nothing like it.

Honestly the biggest seller for me to want to see brazil is the song "the girl from ipanema", but in the original language. Portugese is such a beautiful language, as are the brazilian women.

@freemo @trinsec Just inspired me to watch Brazil again. (You mean the Terry Gilliam 1985 version I assume?)

@bwbeach

I do t feel a need for such a book but i might snatch up a copy purely out of curiosity.

@trinsec

@trinsec its everything here.. like every road looks like an american ghetto just instead of drugs and violence it is kind hard working people with amazing food and hand made products...

@trinsec since i have a thai girlfriend i really should start learning more about the countries history.

@TwistedEagle i thi knits a fair assumption that the more abused and disenfranchized a group is the more thry are likely to lean towards radicalization.

The infrastructure decay here in bangkok really gives a sort of dystopian future feel... its like something out of the movie Brazil.
