@collin I find the demo, the republican, and the moderate to all lack enlightenment... Americans are so far from any sense of enlightenment you simply wont find it anywhere on the political spectrum there.

@freemo

Men: Material wealth and strength

Women: Emotional wealth and strength

@MichaelPorter I think your experience is more the norm honestly. I sometimes wonder though if thats because it is sold as a disease holding you back so people buy it and incorporate that assumption or what...

@freemo Another interesting conversation! (Especially for a dabbler in symbology). I think the fundamental difference is that femininity (associated with water or geometrically, the circle) is a spiritual stance of accepting information; which is why it is associated with empathy because to do so you must take in the information being given by other people in order to empathize with them. Masculinity (fire or geometrically a line) is the opposite, a blocking out of information so that one can act (since the world produces a huge abundance of information that we cannot possibly process, we are required to block out some to not be overwhelmed all the time). Thus action (getting from point A to point B, like a line) is considered masculine and reception (ability to contain like a circle or a receptacle) is considered feminine. What is unclear to me is whether the association to human sexes came from the geometric association (the main distinguishing feature of the sexes, the genitals, resembling a line for men and a circle for women) or if some observations of generalities in human behavior led to the association (men being more prone to action without as much thought and women being more likely to "overthink" things, or at least think more than men do). That is my concise answer, believe it or not :ageblobcat:

Democrats entire agenda: "Orange man bad, vote for me"

Republicans entire agenda "Senile man bad, vote for me"

Everyone else: Could you please maybe feed us instead of kill us?

@Pat No it doesnt counter my assertion because cops arent the only ones who can arrest cops.. civilians can press criminal charges too.. So when an incident is public and hard to cover up only then does it result in action...

What youll see is their arrest rate is actually less overall than the average person, but suspiciously the things they do tend to get arrested for are absolutely heinous like rape and assault being oin the top 10.

Cops are very different than us.. they are above the law, protect each other to make sure they are above the law, and get to dominate over other people as a living.. it is a recipe for the worst sort of people, and in the USA it has become just that.

@Clementulus The only thing that pisses me off about your response is it reminds me I cant follow a person twice... As someone who LOVES to study tghe occult and religions and the symbols they use we will get along just fine :)

I like your spiritual interpretation. I think I might modify it a bit.. femininity is taking in information (or we can even say ordered energy) and converting that into life-force (spirtual healing).. this lines up with empathy in, and nurturing out as a result of that empathy.

Masculinity is the reverse, they want to be the generators of ordered energy, but they consume their own life force (and when done in an unhealthy way the life force of others) to produce that energy.

I would further argue the woman is the point, the man is the line, and together they form the circle.

@bac The file itself is binary, i cant see.. but it came with a shell script which is supposed to launch it (it doesnt) which uses bash interpriter.

@pj

Yea there is no shortage of examples of guns saving lives, and there are admifditly a lot of examples of them taking lives... the key is figuring out which one is larger.. the problem is we document murder with a gun far more rigerously than we document murder-prevention with a gun.

@DutyBard @rrb

@idanoo yea, and i think i saw the sqlite error when trying to launch it another way too (though a shell script)

@chris_spackman

That sounds like a distinct possiblity yea.. this program was pre-compiled when i downloaded it... That said its a java program behind the scenes.. .this precompiled binary is some sort of launcher or installer or something....

@idanoo that is very possible... though would you expect that error for such a situation? Seems the wrong error for that symptom.

I do get a weird error when trying to invoke file though...

❯ , file QuPath
nix: symbol lookup error: /nix/store/nd8dpdgpjkh3g3vvcjx9qdw7mjzz0l90-nix-2.13.3/lib/libnixstore.so: undefined symbol: sqlite3_error_offset

@realcaseyrollins if it were a symlink the the ls -lha should show it... i doubt the subdirectories are symlinks but ill double check.

Corrupted harddrive is possible I suppose but if thats the case this is the only symptom so far.

Dumb ass Linux problem... like really dumb...

So I clearly have this file in my directory and it is set as executable (pastebin at the bottom)... Yet when i try to run it im told the file doesnt exist... how is this possible....

@vwbusguy This kid is going to be born such a nerd! I approve! Congrats!

@Pat Sure, just go into the police crime database and run the numbers yourself... If you want a summary this article seems to make an attempt at summarizing some aspects of it for the general public (note the most common thing for a cop to be convicted of on or off duty is assault, and rape is in the top 10):

vice.com/en/article/595kv3/pol

As for the wealthy trying to turn people against cops... thats not what I've seen. The overwhelming majority of the wealthy seem to be leaning right and are **very** pro cop. It is the liberals, who tend to be more middle class and poor, who hate cops, and with good cause.

For the record I grew up in extreme poverty, my opinion of cops is largely formed by my experience and how they treated me when I was younger. Luckily as an adult Im rich enough to rarely set foot in america, which I avoid largely because of the abusive nature of the cops and the distrust I have in the system when I am there. Well that and americans just suck in general.

@MichaelPorter

Not really... I found it has been more of an enhancer and has improved my abilities in most areas of life rather than been something that derails me... It is the ability to multitask, the necessity to multitask. at least thats how I see it.

@Pat I said youtube wasnt my lens and then gave the actual statistic that was an example what was...

Explaining th eyoutube example doesnt make it my lens, it makes it an example that is impactful.. My views are based on the cold hard facts, cops are 4x more likely to beat their wives.. and generally more likely to be assholes in almost every other scenario too.... they are also much more likely to be arrested.

I grew up in a family with several cops.. ive seen it first hand. I dont need to go on another ride along to see it. I also know if i ever got in trouble I could just tell them I had a cop for an uncle and pass them my card and get off scott free.
