@wihou @gabe Indirect involvement. It was curated from the original fediblock list, one of our users did the work i just promoted it heavily. (see my pinned toots).

Tupper where?
Over there!
Tupper when?
How 'bout then?
Tupper what?
You so hot!
Tupper who?
I said you!
Tupper why?
Cause I can't lie!

A poem by me, no need for applause ;)

@wihou @gabe

Tbis is exactly right, our federated tineline is open so users can pick what we want for ourselves. There are blocklists one can import to make that easier. Thr ability to block whole instances, and not just people, makes that easier than with other platforms.

@gabe you just block the instances that curate to porn and your good. Thats ghr beauty of the fediverse, it makes it very easy toncurate your public tineline by blocking whole instances not people.

Remeber the federated timeline is the whole fediverse by default.

“ Imagine picking up a glass of what you think is apple juice, only to take a sip and discover that it’s actually ginger ale. Even though you usually love the soda, this time it tastes terrible. That’s because context and internal states, including expectation, influence how all animals perceive and process sensory information … anticipating the wrong stimulus leads to a surprise, and a negative response.“

@koherecoWatchdog i find ghr extreme polarization in votes on this poll to be interesting....

@viticci lets hope they address the compliance issues and can go live for them again soon... i wonder what the specifics are here?

@zkat wHile qoto has a pretty good mix of races here, more than the average, we are sadly a tech, or more specifically science, oriented instwnce. So we may not be a good fit.

That said we do have a feature where you can add columns to the ui that specifically show you the local feed from other instsnces.

Youd be welcome to set up an account so you can preview the tineline of instances until you find one that looks like a fit then move.

Sorry wish i had better advice.

@freemo @mmm @futurebird that's not just a metaphor. The East Germans put up a wall for a reason. All the hard working highly motivated people were getting out of the Communist side. I know people whose parents did exactly that.

People were not allowed to leave the Soviet bloc for the same reason: all the wrong people would leave.

Cuba was happy to let their prison population leave during the boatlift in the 80s. Those people had negative social value, so good riddance.

Happy trans visibility day everyone. My support and heart goes out to all of you trying to be yourselves in a world that makes that so difficult at times.

I see you, I love you, and most of all I respect your strength. Im always here if you need someone to talk to

@mmm

No in this metaphor people pick their side. There is no assumption of who is a hard worker or not.. if it just so happens all thr hard workers abandon communism and go capitalist, well that just tells you something about how people woukd respond to collectivism.

@mike805 @futurebird

@mmm

Thats not right. Communism can exist inside capitalism, its cslled a commune, but not the other way around.

So a more accurste representstion woukd be in the communists were allowed to kill the capitslists.

@mike805 @futurebird

@freemo I agree with a lot of that. You also reminded me of another reason I believe it became associated with the division of human sexes is that the two energies are required to be in balance with each other for the act of creation (perhaps seen as positive organization of matter) to take place, just as both male and female bodies are required for procreation. This is opposed to the imbalance of these energies which causes dissolution; excess male energy is how we view aggression symbolically and excess female energy as anxiety.
