No where in there (according to the search for keywrods) is the topic being discussed here even showing up.... so yea, I can say you didnt do the work at addressing this post in anyway.
Now if your saying you thought about and discussed aspects of gun control before... sure, ok, so what?
Yea Im not going to read that long post when it doesnt even reference the two laws I talked about here at all, and thus isnt relevant to the discussion so far as I can tell.
Feel free to cite/quote yourself if/where you find it relevant though.
Obviously i ean more towards deregulation of guns and weapons than most. But that aside even if you are for gun regulation its very hard to see democrats as even remotely sane when it comes to gun control... in fact they literally make guns MORE dangerous not less with many of their efforts.
Your whole argument is "making guns more dangerous and ensuring more innocent people die in accidents is better than doing nothing! Vote democrat!"
My eyes have never rolled harder in my life.
Yes the democrats beleive in gun control... they ultimately fail at expressing their beleifs and instead make guns less safe and controlled not more.
No this has nothing to do with a state-by-state patchwork, this law is at the federal level and a perfect example why democrats should loose their privilages when it comes to defining gun laws.
The republicans didnt make this law, what they beleive is irrelevant other than as a distraction to the point, which is that democrats are loony tunes and dont even rub their two brain cells together when coming up with legislation.
There is no choice here to be had, The democrats have literally made the gun issue worse, doing nothing would have been better than this.
Yup, and for someone who is about to commit murder that makes absolutely no difference.
So you have a scenario where all the good guys who want to obey laws are required to handle a weapon in its most dangerous form and will likely kill innocent people unintentionally as a result...but for those people who want to intentionally kill people and have the increased accuracy, they just need to buy an off the stock butt stock and pop it on in 5 minutes and they are good to use it to kill the people they want to kill...
And you think this law has even the smallest iota of sanity to it? Man that takes an impressive amount of disconnect with reality if you think the democrats have done anything useful with such a law.
@caliandroid do you have a link to the video... i dont see it at first glance.
More dangerous... its still just as useful, the bullets kill just as much as always, the only difference is you kill a bunch of people you dont intend to along the way. Not to mention any criminal with half a brain can easily attach a buttock to it.
Thats not accurate...
Carbines are less concealable than pistols, more so than rifles. Likewise carbines are longer range than a pistol but shorter than a rifle.
Carbines are not "the worst of both worlds"... they sit right in the middle providing a traide off of each.. the bad qualities are a mix of both just as the good qualities are a mix of both.
Regardless of if you want to argue if we should outlaw carbines or not, that is irrelavant to the point of the post, which is that what we have right now has nothing to do with anything other than to make carbines MORE dangerous not less, if that is your concern.
No, I'm arguing the law as it is currently written accomplished nothing, puts people at **more** risk of gun death, and doesnt even have the slightest semblance of sanity to it.
How you can go from that to thinking all carbines should be illegal is, well, a little wackado.
@SteelFolk @TruthSandwich yes carbines are considered a type of pistol when it is below 16" and thus has the butstock removed. Carbines with a but stock (and thus 16" length) are still rifles though.
Yes, and allowing something to be more concealable on the condition that is significantly more dangerous and likely to kill people unintentionally is a really stupid move on the democrats part if they were concerned with concealability.
We arent discussing rifles, we are discussing carbines (same idea s a rifle but shorter barrel). Carbines are designed for close quarters defense.
Well good thing the democrats are making us safe by ensuring all our guns with shorter barrels cant aim for shit and will just hit random unintended targets every time you shoot... go dems!
Sort a, few corrections:
> so your pov is that of a person from a rich & well connected family (republicans from philly even)
I grew up in poverty, my mom married rich. I had long since moved out at this point. So while my step-dad was rich and had these connections I myself was not raised and exposed to it as a rich person.
> when Trump came for dinner with them you thought he was brain dead based on nothing in particular
No it was based on very specific things he said and did, not nothing in particular.
> So all republicans are stupid cause their parents didn't have trump over for dinner
No they are stupid because he clearly demonstrates he is an idiot to everyone, you dont need to have him over for dinner. Me having met him personally just makes it easier to rule out some of the conspiracy theories around him just pretending to be dumb but in secret and in private he is some sort of genius. That said you dont need him over to see that, even that should be obvious to most.
> But you also thought joe biden was stupid when he came to visit your parent for dinner
In Joe's case it was less about stupidity and more about senility and immorality...
> So you are a rich kid from a rich well connected family. Which is very important for me to consider for some reason.
Again sorta... grew up in poverty, etc. Me being rich or well connected is irrelevant, what is relevant is that I had a more intimate insight into these people which may give me stronger opinions since I cant fabricate some illusion than their idiocy and immorality is all some act, as some do.
@caliandroid I find it concerning the repo doesnt have screen shots... makes me concerned it may not present aesthetic looking slides. I always try to use foss tech for my presentations but one of the biggest criticisms people give is that its hard to make attractive impactful slides. Ultimately I decided to use latex as its the best I could get and remain open.
@mzan I mean, yea, overall I'd say the democratic parties and republican parties have made a mess of most things and done a shit job handling any issue sanely.... im with ya on that.
