@Paulos_the_fog No thats not socialism. Thats capitalism with social-welfare.. often erroneously described as socialism... stems mostly from the error americans make trying describe europe as socialist, which they are not.

@feld

By the way if you want to compare the two in terms of efficiency its complicated... batteries are more efficient to charge, but less efficient to transport.

@feld

Its a fuel in the same way as a battery... You must make it/charge it and in that process you loose energy. So just like with batteries your only going to put energy in if, at that moment, you dont need it but wish to store it (it is excess)

@feld Better to think of hydrogen as a battery than as a source of energy.

I am making tons of progress on my . APRS project called .

I got an igate relay hosted (this will be neccesary to ensure we can get dup packets):

igate.digipex.io

I got a web-app going that will display allt he clients on the map and give some statistics/status info:

hub.digipex.io

I also have the most important part, working code that talks to the radios and routes / rewrites packets. Right now it can send/receive, digipeat, and gate to and from the igate.

The code for digipex is here: git.qoto.org/digipex/digipex

And you can see some information about my particular digipex node here:

hub.digipex.io/views/overview.

The picture below is of a microcomputer (like a raspberry pi, its a khadas) running digipex and showing the packets it deals with on the miniature screen.

@khird Off hand I have no idea, I just assume there must be a way... ill look around...

@khird You can generate new recovery codes... but ill take a look soon if i dont forget, keep bugging me as i have a lot on my plate and dont want to forget to do it.

@khird How urgent is it? I may have some time tomorrow evening to check it out, please remind me in a day or two as i might forget and will have more time but ill try to remember.

Well I managed to have a productive day yesterday. I got APRS-IS/IGATE working on my APRS client as well as fixed the pathing so it inserts the stations callsign.. Its been working live all night. Already seeing the new stats on the website!

Station info: aprs.fi/info/a/WI2ARD-1

@rosey

This is exactly why I tried to start up the .. to basically make the process of defederating a process where people talk rather than just block silently without hearing the evidence or discussing the problem.

@thor

@Baley never had fresh potatoes from a garden... Can you taste a difference in flavor?

@thor Last time I tried to scroll their block list I sprained my scrolling finger. Had to ice it for a week... Godspeed!

@supernovae@universeodon.com Best of luck to you in your future ventures.

fedi meta

@pixel The idea that they are moderating proactively is nonsense.. They are moderating to the whims of their users, which attracts more users with whims. Its a cycle that ultimately results in servers like art, that has moderated to the point of abuse just to appease their users rather than based on anything that actually needs moderating.

fedi meta

sad truth: as long as instances like .art keep moderating as they do ("proactively", guilt-by-association, etc.), Mastodon and the fediverse as a whole will stagnate.

I get that people want to keep it "manageable", but you also want more people to adopt the concept and ideology so we are not dependent on centralized services.

but new users will leave right away if they have to deal with federation issues if they can't interact with friends.

@IAmErik I was outraged that there was outrage over outrage when in fact there is a lack of outrage, but now that you are outraged I am outraged that you are outraged when there should be a lack of outrage!
