@LWFlouisa I never really used it other than viewing some stuff from other people from time to time.

@LWFlouisa

Places like that, the toxicity is so overwhelming the rules are just for show... someone being upset is its own crime regardless of any facts.

@meadow @apophis @7666 @feinzer @freemo @sorrowl @winter yeah, she banned a .art user who mainly spoke Spanish and barely any english for talking about using GIMP "because it's an ableist slur" and this poor guy didn't even know about it being a slur because it's an English word and wasn't given a chance to explain himself or anything

I just found out my sister died, she passed on June 24th. I dont know the cause of death yet....

@7666

I think its perfectly fine to leave a record of historical blocks. The issue is that it isnt updated when the count is displayed.

@sorrowl @winter

@bluGill Sadly psychology is one area where the conclusions are wildly unreliable... I think its extremely obvious that it makes a huge difference to anyone who has seen children grow up over hte years. Psychologists need to do better.

@EricOlson

I dunno I kinda had the exact opposite impression... I found the math children are taught in first grade to be very much below the capabilities of what most 1st graders should be capable of... same holds true for most grades forward.

I remember I derived einsteins equation for time dialation in 4th grade after a teacher described it at a high level... this is usually considered college level math and yet 4th graders could easily be capable of it if they were taught to their potential.

@Gaythia

@7666

Sorry I mean the tool is grossly inaccurate in general. It is not surprising that in MA's case they rarely if ever remove a block once added.

@sorrowl @winter

@7666

While im pretty sure mastadon.art is one of the heaviest blocking instances, this isnt very accurate.

The tool is grossly inaccurate simply because if an instance is blocked and then later unblocked, the list doesnt remove it. So the numbers are usually significantly inflated.

You can get an idea though of the real numbers by looking at the timestamps and seeing the last time the block was observed.

@sorrowl @winter

@rmerriam That woudl make sense.. I bet part of it is that older siblings rarely use baby talk like adults do as well.

@mzan awww what a littl schmibble of a smooble you are, yes you are you little cutie!
