What do you mean, they are citizens of palestine. in a one state solution they would return since they are no longer displaced.

You have to understand palestinians left because their homes were bombed and their land taken.. not because they wanted to. Once the land is open to them again they would return since they are no longer refugees and have their land back.

A one state solution is one in which the two states merge into one in some fashion.. a two state solution is where two seperate nations are formed (right now palestine is considered as occupied by israel so it is still recognized internationally as one state).

You arent calculating the palestinian citizens who are displaced and not physically in palestine.

There are 14.3 million palestinian citizens throughtout the world total, of that about 1/3 are currently residing in palestine, the rest are refugees or immigrants in other lands displaced by the war but still palestinian citizens.

Compare that to the 9 million or so who have israeli citizenship, and the fact that 20% of those are pallestinians as well, at least originally.

So yea palestinian citizens outnumber Israeli citizens by quite a bit.

Strictly speaking there would be one state left if you mass murdered the whole of palestine and annexed it. From a technical standpoint it would be.

But thats not what anyone means when they say a one state solution. It seems like an absurd use of the term to me and very misleading, but technically accurate.

Another important point.. you said:

> anyone who knows very well that they personally use corporal punishment because they honestly believe it is the best way to keep their kid from running with scissors

As I stated, I do think parents genuinely lie to themselves and believe the lie that they do it for the "greater good"... I said that ready. So yes the assumption is they "know" they are doing it with good intent, its still a lie and there is some part of them that is fully aware thats not why they are doing it. But people are just too good at lying to themselves.

So yea i fully believe they are convinced they do it for "disciplin" even though it is lie both to themselves and others.

Agreed, their motives for beating their kids doesnt really change the equation anyway.. either they are aware that they are abusive horrible people who should have their kids taken away from them, or they arent aware of it... What excuses a child beater tells themselves, and believes really matters very little. So even if it were a factual excuse it would not change anything about my judgements or them being deserving of punishment (the adults who do the beating).

> I'm not sure that one follows the other. Wouldn't the Arabs need to live in in order to vote there? Israelis outnumber Palestinians significantly.

Yes, in a one state solution the palestinians and isralis live and are citizens of one nation, as such they would all have the right to vote togetehr.

So if you are talking about "palestinians not living there" then you arent talking about a one state solution, you are talking about genocide. Generally palestinians being mass murdered out of existence is not what is meant by one state solution.

> You’re assuming people you disagree with are doing what they do with the worst possible motives, rather than for the reason they say they’re doing it. You’re doing this for no discernible reason. It’s weird.

Nah you have it backwards. I have witnessed people beating their kids universally having the worst possible motives, without a single exception. As such I came to the conclusion to disagree with their actions.

> Here’s one of several problems with it: I don’t know, maybe Dash thinks corporal punishment is a responsible way to raise kids, and here maybe you have a chance to convince someone! But instead, you blow the opportunity: you come off like an unhinged person, certainly unlikely to convince anyone who knows very well that they personally use corporal punishment because they honestly believe it is the best way to keep their kid from running with scissors.

If seeing people who beat kids as bad people with bad motives comes across as "unhinged" I'd suggest **you** or anyone who might think that is more likely to be the unhinged person and just projecting.

You also assume my goal is to convince someone of something and to use less honest language to manipulate them, hiding my actual opinions and giving a fake persona in the hopes of convincing someone... My goal is not to convince anyone, and I damn well have no intention of manipulating people by hading my unadulterated opinion in order to get a more favorable reaction. My only goal is to share my opinions, and their reasoning. I dont expect a child beater to ever be convinced, if they are great, if they arent its par for the course.

@freemo @dashrandom I think you know what I mean. 😂 You're assuming people you disagree with are doing what they do with the worst possible motives, rather than for the reason they say they're doing it. You're doing this for no discernible reason. It's weird.

In a one state solution you would have a single government and palestinians and israeli would be one voting group in a single nation. Since Arabs outnumber Israel this would effectively be giving palestine back to them.

Obviously a one state solution that comes through complete genocide is not acceptable.

good thing no one did that here then. Feel free to explain your criticisms however if you want to have a productive conversation.

Its been around since as far back as I can remember.. seems to have sustained itself throughout history pretty well so far...

@dangillmor

@DEWLine

And as someone who knows Biden personally (an old friend of the family), and someone who has worked with quite a few senile patients professionally I stand by my opinion.

@marynelson8

@DEWLine

That is certainly true, but also moot to the point of senility. Senility is largely genetic and sadly despite Biden taking care of himself it is very evident he is struggling with senility while Trump is not (though Trump is struggling with stupidity).

@marynelson8

@thor

I hired an Arab and the CEO of the company lost his shit... Screamed racist shit all day. I was amazed at how ok the employees were... not a single people walked from that place when it happened.

@realcaseyrollins

@realcaseyrollins

Most Israeli seem to care a great deal about their image as bad guys. That said it isnt everyone. In my expiernce it seemed to be those born in israel had a near 100% racist lean against palestinians... It was the israelis that migrated there in their lifetime who seem to be largely divided.

Most of them either way wont show their racism casually and will only admit it once you get close enough with them, largely because of the image they have and want to break.

@thor

@thor yea i agree with those statements. Both have had war crimes done upon them, both have commited war crimes... so the cycle is complete. Both have a reason to hate and be hated by the other.

The UN resolution was the root of the issue, for sure.
