@volkris

White knighting is definately a huge element here. That is a bit of a left narrative. Tehy are taught how there is so much injustice in the world... and there is, lots, but its exagerated beyond the already high point it is at to the point where the left thinks its literally everywhere.

So they have this sense of white knighting and championing the cause. But then when they struggle to find anything as bad as they imagined they instead need to turn every little moderate offense into being the worse thing since the Nazis... this hyperbole combined with actively seeking things to white knight results in a lot of misplaced toxicity for sure.

@mike805

@volkris That too... if they had just never uttered his name again he would have been a distant memory.

@mike805 I would say in the current cycle of hate the left is clearly the less tolerant to discuss, but the right is less tolerant not to discuss. The left will crank the toxicity up to 11 the second you want to discuss any nuance beyond the party line or the script... But the right is the opposite. If you dontfeel like talking about their conspiracy of the day they get triggered by the silence.

@mike805 I dunno about "radical trans" whatever that is...

But its the same as with wars. They are radicalized and extreme, and that comes fromt eh same treatment they received, it goes in cycles and every cycle strengthens the other side rather than weakening it like you intend.

The right has given rise to the radical left, which in turn has radicalized the right, which in turn further radicalized the left.

Its very much a two way street. I just happen to be calling out one side right now, dont think for a second the other side is exempt.

@thor confidence without the evidence to back it (or the skills) is just lying convincingly. and sure lying convincingly can get you jobs :)

@pies

By law, an by default, overtime is any time worked beyond 40 hours in a week. Overtime by law must be paid at 1.5x the base rate by default in most states.

There are of course exceptions on a per-contract or per-state basis. But thats the standard.

> Are you one of those people who gets power from denying a voice to young people.

I am not. And considering you didnt understand my statement why did you already conclude this negative conclusion BEFORE you bothered to hear the explanation so you could understand what you judge so you can judge it fairly?

> what do you mean by don’t go to school? Please clarify.

I am referring to the movement of kids "protesting" by refusing to go to school (A movement Greta got famous for starting). I am all for them protesting, but protesting by skipping education is a horrible take that should be mocked, not praised.

Saying kids should skip school to protest environmental issues is like arguing that People should dump crude oil into rivers to protest lack of educational access in the USA... Its an idiotic, and hollow way to protest that is ultimately self-defeating.

@GayDeceiver

@gabriel The more radicalized and abusive you are to people who are more moderate the more you are going to radicalize against you... people are emotional creatures, you being toxic towards someone for not being as radicalized to the left as you will ultimately just radicalize them to the right rather than being a moderate leftie. Do it enough and people support Trump purely as a hate-response to how they have been mistreated.

@thor Could be, if you have the confidence and the skills to back it up you can easily ve 3x above the average, at least outside of europe (europe really abuses its talent when it comes to pay for the sake of equality).

I wonder if democrats even realize that even if they are objectively the best choice, the overwhelming toxicity from that community to any level of criticism results in massive number of voters who are going to vote for trump purely as an emotional response to being mistreated by the community.. purely out of spite.

In fact at this point I think Democrats and the way they treat people is probably the only real reason Trump is part of the landscape at all.

@thor It kicks in once people are impressed by you and start expecting ti. At least for me.

@freemo @josemanuel i know it's just a figure of speech but i think it's not good to call this behavior childish. children have to (and are eager to) learn how the world works. they engage in such make-believe games as a means of learning about reality. it's the polar opposite of these people which have reduced the world to a delusion.

@bonifartius

Thats fair.. honestly its an insult to children to compare them to most adults. As you say even most children are better than that.

Immature may be the better term.

@josemanuel

@LouisIngenthron Generally I agree, but the debate witht he medical doctor is a good example.. he brought receipts, he cited things and quoted them... but he wasnt **listening** or understanding his quotes. He thought i wasnt reading because i wasnt drawing the same conclusions as him and he thought he was literally just repeating the authors conclusion, which in reality he wasnt, he was saying something very different.

So its not always so cut and dry.

Obviously when it is nothing wrong with devaluing a persons interactions.

@josemanuel

Yea, well its clear whatever is going through their head it is certainly something like that, very childish indeed.

@bonifartius

@TomShafShafer

Finished,. Thanks that was useful. I actually did know this already but forgot about it. Thanks.

@TomShafShafer

Nope, I dont troll. You may be triggered by my very open and unfiltered opinions at some point... but no not trolling.

thanks, ill take a look

@LouisIngenthron Sure, the problem is most people when they are wrong but passionate think the other side is ignoring facts when in fact it can be you. Thats the rub.

@josemanuel

Probably some truth to that. I wonder if they realize its all in their head. Like I still get to reply the only difference is they dont see it.
