@Hyolobrika@berserker.town Well I could see, for example, someone playing naive and then going "oh so its not illegal to be gay, its just illegal to talk about it in school" which may have been the intent of someone sealioning and playing innocent, to lure the other person into a conversation and then using a "gotcha".

Now nothing wrong with pointing out someone isnt being accurate in what they say, but the playing naive part in order to do it as a gotcha would be where it becomes sealioning.

@aardvark Yes and I thank you for those links, its all the toxic gaslighting you've done in the peripheral to that is the issue.. when I said thank you that should have been the end of it.

@aardvark Are you really going to take quotes out of context to create some drama about something I didnt say... Here is the full context of the question I asked:

"What about florida makes it so exceptionally dangerous for them? Not that I'm disagreeing with you, just wondering what law or whatever this is in reference to."

As is quite clear when you dont mislead by taking what I said out of context, I was interested in what **law** he was refering, not googles opinion on what makes florida shitty for gay people.

Why are you even wasting your time with this toxic line of discussion... I asked what law he was talking about, the correct thing to do is just answer and avoid all this needless gaslighting.

@Hyolobrika@berserker.town While I am sure there are legitimate examples of sealioning clearly you are spot on in this case and something I've seen used similarly before.

@hosford42

regardless my answer was in the present tense "I dont have access to the internet" which clearly was being stated while I have access to the internet (thus the joke).

@aardvark @ariaflame @GeePawHill @agilealliance

@hosford42

the question was asked int he present tense and answered int he present tense. So it is possible, and understandable, I may have misunderstood the question (and this was demonstrated with my answer).

@aardvark @ariaflame @GeePawHill @agilealliance

@hosford42

Also anyone could see I have been consistently posting for years, so should have been obvious I was responding jokingly...

@aardvark @ariaflame @GeePawHill @agilealliance

@hosford42

I have had access to internet. My response saying I didnt have internet was a joke, (which I assumed so was the question) since I was obviously answering **on the internet**. Yes I have had internet.

@aardvark @ariaflame @GeePawHill @agilealliance

@aardvark

Or ya know, when someone says "hey what law are you refering to" people can just answer and avoid all this toxic nonsense... and you actually manage to help inform people and get the word out, win win.

Attacking someone for daring to ask what someone is referring to is the most self defeating toxic shit imaginable.

@ariaflame @GeePawHill @agilealliance

@lurker Not in a few months sadly. Last dive adventure I was on was int he Maldives. Sadly work has taken up a lot of time last few months.

@aardvark

Assuming those are the laws the OP meant, then again, thank you for finding them. I was looking perhaps too literally.

I find it a bit funny that the OP will use such a vague and misleading statement and then instead of just mentioning what law they mean complain that i should google it then mock me when I dont find any law that actually matches what he said... Like just use your words to be clear enough so people dont need to guess, its not sealioning to ask "oh what law is that"... there is **no** need for the two days of nonsense when all I needed was an accurate statement of what is being discussed and i could have googled it.

@ariaflame @GeePawHill @agilealliance

@aardvark

Im sure you did, but you knew what the laws were you were looking for. None of these "make being gay illegal" so obviously to someone who has no clue what is being referenced it is effectively impossible to google. I did see these laws when i googled and since they did not fit the description I had assumed they werent what was being referenced.

Obviously I have no objection to if the person wanted to be hyperbolic, but the inaccurate description did make it impossible for me to know what was being referenced or to find it.

@ariaflame @GeePawHill @agilealliance

@aardvark

Again, thank you so much for the links, still reading them but very much appreciated.

@ariaflame @GeePawHill @agilealliance

@freemo @mia I applaud your tenacity then, people like that are beyond help and deserve ridicule at most as soon as the first signs are spotted.

@mia I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt.. yes people often disapoint, but its best I dont sink to their level pre-emptively.
