@TruthSandwich Calling out trolling by calling someone a troll is now trolling, you say on a post you made calling out a troll by calling him a troll.
@TruthSandwich I dunno, as a troll account yourself, though in this case blaming everything that isnt the DNC, I figured you might understand the motivations better than most of us.
We got Trump because HRC assumed like it was "her turn" and campaigned like a spoiled brat. We got Trump because too many people in this country felt like they were ignored and screwing over the political system was their only outlet. We got Trump because republican voters, even after seeing what a POS Trump was listed when their party told them "Politics is a team sport." and "Voting is like public transits; if there is not a candidate that gets you exactly where you want to go take the one that get you closest."
We are heading towards getting Trump again because Biden and the Dems didn't learn anything from 2016 because their minds were too clouded by winning the popular vote, but loosing the election and crying about third party candidates. Democrats cannot admit the reasons they actually lost and it is why they stand a very good chance of loosing to the Orange Monstrosity again.
Its not hte virus mutating that causes it, that obviously is a factor that can make it worse. But the issue is actually the human immune response, it becomes attenuated itself in this case, same with tetnus, its the same virus you just loose immunity over time.
For the record all viruses of the cornovirus sub-type (which includes several that cause the common cold) have this effect. Its part of the reason why a cold vaccine has never been an option.
@darnell Sadly COVID vaccine are a bit like tetnus. The vaccine will likely require you to retake it periodically. Without it after a few yours your probably no better off than the unvaxxed.
@viq Way to go conveying your position is one of compassion as you intentionally spewq hatre at anyone who questions it... You are doing more to show your side of the argument is the bad side then I ever could even if i wanted to.
@viq I have said nothing remotely resembling that. Never asked you to die, never said it was limited to a mild inconvenience.
For starters its far worse than a "mild inconvenience" in my case. I am medically exempt and wearing one could put me at risk. But thats another matter. More importantly for others its far worse than a mild invoncience. For starters its a huge issue for deaf people who rely on lip reading. Second for many its far worse than a mild discomfort and can be a pretty significant and disruptive part of many peoples days. People with glasses is most notable as they often have problem seeing at all while wearing a mask (I know ive struggled with this issue).
Finally, you are asking 7 billion people to wear low-level hazmat suits for the rest of their lives because you dont like the fact that you are at slightly higher risk cause a new diseases exists and want the who world to inconvience themselves to appease your hypochondria when clearly they are ok with the risks in terms of the bulk of the population...
So instead of asking the whole world to appease you, when they clearly dont agree with you, maybe **you** should look in the mirror.
> I'm sorry, but https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-polio_syndrome strongly disagrees with you. Not 7-21 but 15-30, and not days but **years**.
Huh, doesnt agree with me at all. Your narative of polio being flu like and paralysis kicking in 15+ years later is a completely misunderstanding of what you just linked.
Polio causes paralysis in 7 to 21 days for the vast majority of people, and is far from a simple flu in presentation. What you linked is an indication that some patients can relapse years later and have a case of PPS that is in addition to the usual course of the disease.
> And again you're back to talking about risk to yourself, completely disregarding the COVID you'll pass to a clerk in the store living with their mother undergoing cancer treatment. Which brings me back to the sentiment behind my original three character response.
Yes I am talking about risk to myself. We already addressed the general public beyond myself and they have made it very clear (by their lack of use of masks) they too agree with me and would prefer the risks associated with not wearing a mask than to wearing a mask.
In polio the time from catching the disease to onset of paralysis is 7 to 21 days. So no the idea that it leaves you paralyzed much later as some unforseen consequence isnt accurate. Paralysis happens in the relative short term.
But yea you have no way of knowing all the consequences, its true... but you shouldnt live in fear on the off chance it might have some unforseen serious consequence that has yet to be discovered. In fact even just from what is known I'd say COVID is relatively serious, no where near polio serious, but its worse than the flu for sure.
There are probably a few dozen diseases a year you have gotten your whole life that you never knew you got and have no clue what the consequences could be... most will never turn out to be anything major.. some will.
The fact that you wind up pissing off people who'se opinions you dont like is just a nice little happenstance I suppose, lol
Yea, I mean it just causes unneeded drama. But you can tell people you are blocking them if you want. Pissing people off isnt against the rules, though it would be nice if you didnt :)
As do I. Which of the above two consistent options do you feel minimize harm on the population?
@rrb Did they recently remove race from the protected list of qualities?
If so that would make sense.
Would you prefer there be no affirmitive action and no special benefits given to men during low enrollment? Or do you prefer there is affirmitive action and those special benefits given/
Are you saying they should they fight against it?
