That is valid, but if accusations werent public then how could people with evidence in the public who hear about it come forward?
> Funny what you think is left are all basic human rights in my country.
Are you suggesting the left doesnt support human rights, therefore by being human rights they are not on left oriented ideas?
Like ok, its a basic human right, so the left has some principles such as supporting basic human rights... how are you even disagrring?
> I’ll give you some real left actions:
So again your saying the left doesnt support human rights? and as such when i pointed that out was wrong?
> Increase taxes on the rich to post war levels.
Heading in this direction are both things Biden and Obama did, increasing tax on the rich.
> Close all corporate tax loopholes.
Against something both Obama and Biden worked towards by proposing on quite a few occasions to close corperate loopholes in the tax code.
> Nationalize essential utilities
That would indeed be an extremely left move. As far as I know no democrats have pushed for this. But when all of their policies are clearly on the left, not having pushed for some arbitrary policy on the left you want to see doesnt stop them from being left, it just makes them a less-extreme version of the left, that is all.
> Nationalize resources to fund society
This has been pushed for by both Obama and Biden. For example the nationalized fund that paid off school loans would be an example
> Salary caps on top level executives
I dont know if they actively pushed for this as a law or not. But they have stated several times they agree with this stance.
> Guaranteed living wages
Both Obama and Biden have consistently pushed for increases to try to get us to a living wage.
> Universal right to unionize
Both Obama and Biden have pushed to support the rights of unions to be forced on workers against their will and removing the right for workers to choose for themselves to join a union.. so yea they have done this too, its a big issue.
So almost everything you listed applies to Obama, Biden, and most democrats... glad we could agree democrats are on the left.
@bonifartius I see him talking a lot about pro-left wing politics. Kinda ironic him being the victim of the very toxic environment he has supported.
@freemo sums up what i know about it pretty well.
i actually only remembered him about a week ago for is role as annoying musician in "forgetting sarah marshall". looked up what he does now and gave his podcast a listen.
fast-forward a few days he is cancelled.

> That depends on what they think is right. If someone is voting for terrible things, I'm not going to admire them for it because it's what their conscience tells them. I care somewhat more about what the politicians are voting for, than about whether they are showing an Independent Spirit by doing it. I'm fine with pols following the party line, if that line is actually good.
If you think independently and make good decisions, and that just happens to be in agreement with the party line, fine I have no problem with that.
But when its clear you are following the party line for sake of following the party line, espcially considering how poor a job the party is doing, then yea we have a problem. The problem is, I cant rely on you to make the right choice should the party become corrupted, so its not a good safeguard.
The democrats sadly have shown a pattern of voting the party line for the sake of voting the party line, group think has become very central to both parties, though moreso to the left it seems (based on george's post)
> Ye is an affluent adult with influence, not an impoverished person on the streets.
That seems like a very confusing response to me... So we are only supposed to be compassionate when someone is poor and has a disease resistant to treatment... when your rich and the pills arent working (or your disease is telling you not to take them) suddenly your disease isnt an acceptable explanation?
You do realize
1) one of the symptoms of diseases like this is that you dont tend to take your pills once you relapsed cause you cant think straight and dont know why you need to.
2) Being able to afford pills doesnt magically mean its your choice when you have relapses. You can be perfectly medicated and still have a manic episode... obviously if your too poor to afford pills that makes it harder, but just because you have access to a drug that **may** help with symptoms doesnt mean your immune cause your rich.
> If he is unwilling to take his medication, then he will be held accountable for his actions & words. He has no excuses, nor will he receive sympathy from me.
Why are you assuming he is unwilling to take his pills? It is not a curable disease, taking pills doesnt cure him... It **may** stop the relapses, but it may not. He very well may be fully medicated and still expierncing a relapse.
> If he was willing to be responsible, he would take his medicine & apologize.
Thats a very ignorant view of mental disease. When your treatment isnt working, or when you arent treated, one symptom of the disease itself is to not want to take the meds.
This is a bit like being mad at someone with Tourettes for using vulgarity or an offensive word. "If they really cared they would take their pills and stopping saying that word"... except that, just like bipolar, often times the meds wont stop it at all...
So I just heard about this through @bonifartius ... maybe im missing some details but let me see if i got this straight.
1) Russel Brand was accursed of some sort of sexually inappropriate activity, not sure what it is yet, but sounds serious. While serious as of yet no evidence has been made public, no trial, and his guilt is unknown.
2) Based on only accusation and rumer the UK parliment decided he should be treated as if he is guilty before a trial
3) the UK parliment has reached out to several platforms asking to deplatform him as punished for something we havent determined if he did yet
4) Platforms like YouTube saw no problem with this and agreed.
Is this seriously where we are at....

> So, you slept through the bank and auto manufacturer bailouts by Obama
Thats a fair point, that would be a right-leaning decision.
But you are aware if a politician does 20 policy decisions ont he left and 1 policy decision on the right, that it is still highly erroneous to try to claim that person is on the right, dont ya think?
> anti-labor actions Biden took against rail workers who wanted to strike?
This one im not familiar with. If true see above comment. But what are you referncing here?
> Not all of the things you said Obama and Biden pursued are even possible in our current capitalist representative democracy.
Ok, so what? How does that change if Obama is left or right wing if infrastructure or other politicians or whatever happens to make his goals impossible. That literally changes nothing about where Obama is in the spectrum even if true, or Biden.
> It'd be illegal for the government to seize private businesses.
We've done it in the past. When we passed anti-monopoly laws companies were seized, divided, and resold.
> The government only seizes private property from poor and disadvantaged people who don't have the resources to fight police civil asset forfeiture in lengthy court processes.
They certainly do that too... though still no relevance to what your responding to.
What are you talking about... I work in an actual lab, wear a mask (would be an idiot not to) and am pro-vax and vaxxed.... I yelled at this dude for posting anti-vaxx misinformation....
What does that have to do with me doing experiments in my lungs?
@SocialistStan@mymastadon.link @BetaCuck4Lyfe
The hilarious thing is.... he **is**... he literally his paying people who draw in crowds to post.
You do realize putting quotes around something I never said doesnt make you right either, it also doesnt make it something i said just cause you said it with quotes?
Ehhhh how silly of me, of course you arent aware of that. If you were you wouldnt be doing it.
I mentioned I was a doctor, yes, but you, being a little retarded and all, werent smart enough to know that the word "doctor" does not imply "medical doctor". This is why what you said is idiotic, you read something and didnt even understand the basic words in it like "doctor" and yet came in pretending like a smart person saying nonsense as if it was smart or something... sorry doesnt work that way, your still a moron even when you pretend not to be.
@BlueWaveSurfer@universeodon.com
Because thats **not** why they are far left, not at all. I mean other liberals fight for that too and arent far-left. Biden isnt far left and he has supported quite a few things most developed countries have (like universal healthcare)...
No they are considered far left for the **other** extremist, nonsensical completely bat shit crazy stuff they do support.
We dont learn weaving from spiders... we learn Web Development. Specifically they are great at teaching us how to handle bugs.
You do realizing just calling an irrelevant response relevant doesnt make it relevant....
But i mean, understanding the reality in front of your face is clearly a struggle for you...
Not a doctor, never mentioned administered or worked with any gene therapy related to covid, never injected a kid... literally none of the nonsense you rambled about in any way described me.
Just screaming like a retarded banshee that it is relevant wont change that.
I dont know if he was or not, but I know its possible.
Its also reasonable to think that the backlash from his comment made it harder to cope with his disease and that alone could have sent him into a relapse. Its also possible that the only reason he didnt apologize is because... well.. look at how disgusting the public responds to apologies... they dont accept them, it changes nothing, all it does is fuel the attacks to start all over again (just look at mila and ashton). So he may be very sorry and still not want to make a public statement just out of fear that his newly found recovery may once again relapse and start the cycle all over.
My point is not that we should forgive him, or not be critical... my point is we should stop being so harsh and attack people over things we are not intimately familiar with and have enough knowledge to actually know our response does good and not harm in the big picture.
