@freemo Easy, Putin learned. He knows now that whoever candidate he endorses will have a disadvantage at the election. And obviously he's trying to help the American to figure out how stupid all of that is.

@louis He already knew that when he endorsed Trump, I mean how could he not?

But yea obviously i dont think Putin is saying the truth, he is saying what has the effect he wants.... just as he wasnt telling the truth when he endorsed Trump either. He knew endorsing Trump would result in riots, he wanted riots, he never cared about Trump.

Just as he knows endorsing Biden will create turmoil and strife, which is more than enough reason for me.

@louis We didnt assume that was the case for Trump, why would we assume that was the case for Biden.

I am pretty strict to apply either sides logic against them consistently. It was accepted at face value for Trump by the Democrats so ill accept it at face value for Biden against the Democrats.

Maybe they should considering not being so toxic and opening the discussion of this stuff to nuance without calling you a Trumper? Then when the tables are turned I might give them the same privilage, but no, thats not how they (democrats or republicans) want to play it. So i will use their own rules.

@georgetakei

Scientist here, just a bit of a pet peve here. This isnt a good answer. Lead can form through normal processes (stellar)and doesnt require radioactive decay as its main source. In fact most lead on earth existed when the earth was formed.

@SteelFolk True, at that temperature the steel would be molten. But what i said would still be true other than the fact that the steel would be molten.

@peterdrake I was actually more curious about non-domesticated animals that we hunt.. like for example deer. Cuter deer means it is harder to pull the trigger. Which would also explain why cuteness would be more important for younger members of a species.

@freemo so the question is, can you sustain this reaction, or why can't you sustain this reaction ?

@Extelec No the reaction cant be sustained. IT takes more energy to dissociate the water then you get back from the flame. So it ultimately cools the object and onc eit drops below 2200 the flames will stop.

@SteelFolk The specific color would depend on the metal to some degree, but yea it would look yellowish-red for sure for steel at least.

So apparently Biden is Putin's choice for president over Trump...

> "For us, who's better, Biden or Trump?" Russian TV correspondent Pavel Zarubin asked President Putin.
>
> "Biden," Vladimir Putin replied in a flash. "He's more experienced, he's predictable, he's an old-style politician."

Interesting fact of the day. Water will "catch fire" when used on anything over about 2,200 C.

You can observe this if you take red hot metal and dip it in water, you will see flames produced and even explosions.

The reason is because at those temperatures the water disassociates and hydrogen and oxygen is produced that then reignites turning back into water and producing flame.

In fact particularly hot fires can not be extinguished with water as the water will convert into hydrogen so quickly it will literally just cause an explosion.

I wonder if all animals on earth became significantly cuter in response to the existance of humans or not? I mean it makes sense if we are eating the ugly ones more.

It definitely seems from artistis depictions (which are likely wildly inaccurate) to be the case... but who knows.

@stux Is it malicious attempt or just spammers hijacking the servers? Not really sure whats going on here.

Thanks for the info though.

My unemployment claim (filed early December 2023) was approved today. Make sure you have three months' worth of savings!

@Troggie I encourage my employees to challenge me, I think its the only way we improve.

That said if we debate how something should be done, and dont reach an agreement, as the boss I do have the right to make a final decision, and as an employee one should either quit or do it at that point. But a good boss will never be mad at being questioned.
