@freemo This Sea Angel was cute, until it ate a snail alive.

@freemo There is the other side of this, look incredibly ugly, don't get eaten. There is a canny valley of edible food ?
@freemo Are you sure its just not an evolutionary trait on behalf of the meat. Look Cute, don't get eaten.
I just added a feature to Fedipage that now lets me combine the activity from multiple gitlab servers into a single git activity heatmap.
Check out my home page where I now combine all the git servers i work on in one activity heat map:
If you want the code to replicate my site (a hugo based static site generator with full ActivityPub support) check out: https://fedipage.com
Why are we genetically programmed to find animals so cute? I would think as an omnivore finding your food cute would be counterproductive.
My hypothesis is that we are supposed to eat meat as a last resort and prefer vegetables. So their cuteness acts as a deterrent so we prefer them less...
Though the fact that meat tastes so good would seem to be a counterargument to that theory...
That time I was stuck in a #Buffalo Stampede at #Yellowstone and got some amazing photos!
Taking concrete #action to solve a local problem can really be empowering when the large #environmental challenges have you feeling overwhelmed and powerless. So can connecting with like minded folks and enjoying fresh air in a #greenspace. So, come out and join our annual #wetland clean-up. Or if you’re not in #waterloo , consider organizing your own! I promise you’ll feel good
Probably, though to simulate ant grooming you'd need something like a tiny wet sponge or a q-tip. IDK if they would feel calm enough to lay down and roll on their side and enjoy it the way ants tend to when they groom each other.
@freemo
Something in the air, I want to code more than game right now too ![]()
This is Sir John Freeman, Baron Fremingham of Glassenbury. He is my 15th great grandfather, a Knight, a Baron (british royalty).
He changed his name from DeFremingham to Freeman, I suspect the name change was due to membership in the freemasons, but since it predates the organization globally (grand lodges) it can be hard to be certain. But family tradition and history is highly suggestive here, my entire male line goes back to the beginning of free masonry and this name change just a few generations before that. So the link is highly suggestive.
It is from him my coat of arms and technically my status as british royalty, but functionally these things are meaningless, just interesting historic gems is all.
