I follow a lot of admins.
We don’t always agree, but I respect what you do.
And I’m not on the team that does “third party” blocks. By which I mean, “You don’t block X so I’m blocking you.”
There are user safety reasons why other admins might choose differently.
Suffice it to say, people start up servers for different reasons. So ultimately you need to find an admin you align with, and that’s your ideal server.
@freemo @icedquinn I remember at least 3 decades ago, many deaf people want to hide they're deaf. They were ashamed to even use sign language in public. My generation or the one right before mine might be the first ones who are like 'eff it'. Still a bit ashamed for people looking our way but also recalcitrant like staring back and then smiling ridiculously and waving back so the hearies all just look away, embarassed themselves.
It's (asymptotically) done!
You can now play an early access version of our second earthquake game, Cascadia 9.1, free on the web:
https://peterdrake.itch.io/cascadia-91-internal-test
Please give it a try and tell us what's still confusing or broken.
(We're not looking for design ideas at this stage, but we might be when we start designing the third game in a matter of weeks.)

What open-source Electronics EDA would you prefer to use if you ran a team and learning curve wasnt an issue?
The FCC is accepting applications for new, low-power, community radio stations the first week of November.
This is huge, you guys, this window rarely opens (the last time was 2013), and as you know, KUZU shows one way LPFM can be a foundation to build valuable community information resources.
The Grassroots Radio folks are holding a conference in West Virginia to help folks out with this.
Please boost and share.

LOLOLOL Drunk cha-cha:
@freemo Yeah, if that's the current state of affairs (i don't follow celebrity events and frankly don't care to research them), then i agree.
Rape must be taken seriously, and for that to work false accusations must be taken seriously and not accepted. The sex of the people involved does not matter for this part.
If someone gets away with false accusations while someone else does not, that's clearly both a double standard and it has the effect of supporting rape.
Russia has lost half their military against #Ukraine and is about to lose territory they illegally held since 2014.
This fact makes those infected with MAGA brain worms angry. Be a shame if this was retweeted
Just a reminder, Johnny Depp was canceled from every major movie franchise just on the accusation of rape with no evidence... Now that it was proven the rape accusations were lies how is Amber Heard's career doing? She is still scheduled to be in Aquaman and the Losr Kingdom. Double standards anyone?
Just a reminder, Mastodon had rate limits long before #twitter... lets not get too cocky on this one.
@freemo Just FYI, this isn't really a Buddha quote. It was written by an American Secular Buddhist, Jack Kornfield: https://fakebuddhaquotes.com/in-the-end-only-three-things-matter/
@freemo
> violence is only a last resort and one I've almost never had to use even when justified.
Yeah, this looks like "I feel like i won if i took a hit and solved it without hitting back"
That's the stuff.
@freemo Ah, the engagement i hoped for, and i hope you value the reply with my own thoughts:
To love, i improved. I did badly, maybe was clumsy and incompetent, but i improved. Especially in the sense of loving without a personal connection, to love for "i think this is something special", not because there was someone close to me.
To live gently, i improved. I was rather angry (rightfully so, but it was not helpful) as a youth, but i think i am getting the knack of not pulling someone who is not directly responsible into my outrage.
Things not meant for me? I really struggle with this one. What does it mean? Is living in a world where people work together instead of competing not meant for me? Who would decide what is meant for me?
Maybe this is more of a translation error, it would make more sense to me if it was "let go of things where consent is not given". That i would be able to say to "i improved". I do conscientiously check if something is where someone else has no obligation to me and back off if i get told no instead of trying to make everything right even if someone does not want that.
