@mackan You're welcome ... finding connections is harder on Mastodon than on the bird site ... the federation works against you in that regard.
So you need to hunt for people, follow lots of people at semi-random, then cull those who don't say anything interesting.
Tag things you say, then hunt for those tags and follow the people that show up.

I 2nd that - though it's probably easy to get overloaded and dog-fighting accidentality with too many I might prefer less population for that as with anyone I can talk... But I recommend really knowing what it is you're looking for and the 'solution' in your eyes 'about life' and announcing / chasing / hunting that... making a few concrete posts just as solid bricks even if you don't know what you're building... books, pictures, solid diagrams and "this is totally what I like" kinda stuff... I don't know if economics has porn but you get what I mean from that word, some eye-candy, some own writing- one of each or just 3 things...

And it is like hunting on Mastodon but then pure signal when you get someone and I'd say probably higher in understanding or even speed :)
People reply... have practice don't stay forever not answering depending on what realm you're in - with economics / maths I think your safe, I'm in the human growing of feeling and psychology though that's everything in it too which can make people think WTF :)
Just the practice to talk via audio is missing but people do go for it (and that's an overall humanity thing what you can try practice I'm practising and enjoy as incorporate much more real practice and relativity)
So happy to say I'm here and "hunting" is the word mentioned which I agree with and no shame in that if you believe in what you do and can half say it... Make mistakes in trying honestly because humanity needs practice in imperfection! lol too much computers and maths <--- joke but reality too since it's more reliable that humans improvement as a subject!
