Once you have done the work for others then you see if that's it or they can continue entertaining more (in work, in friends whatever) and actually they wouldn't talk to you if it wasn't for that work you did for them
(and while this has some truth or more relativity or 'you can't respond to the same people all the time' there is a kind of shitty feeling about that, that in the end people don't get the people thing or something like that.
