The Great Dictator (Transcript of Final Speech, acted by Charlie Chaplin)...
" I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be an emperor. That’s not my business. I don’t want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone - if possible - Jew, Gentile - black man - white. We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each other’s happiness - not by each other’s misery. We don’t want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone. And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way.
Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost…
The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men - cries out for universal brotherhood - for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world - millions of despairing men, women, and little children - victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people.
To those who can hear me, I say - do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed - the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish…
Soldiers! don’t give yourselves to brutes - men who despise you - enslave you - who regiment your lives - tell you what to do - what to think and what to feel! Who drill you - diet you - treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder. Don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men - machine men with machine minds and machine hearts! You are not machines! You are not cattle! You are men! You have the love of humanity in your hearts! You don’t hate! Only the unloved hate - the unloved and the unnatural! Soldiers! Don’t fight for slavery! Fight for liberty!
In the 17th Chapter of St Luke it is written: “the Kingdom of God is within man” - not one man nor a group of men, but in all men! In you! You, the people have the power - the power to create machines. The power to create happiness! You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.
Then - in the name of democracy - let us use that power - let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world - a decent world that will give men a chance to work - that will give youth a future and old age a security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power. But they lie! They do not fulfil that promise. They never will!
Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people! Now let us fight to fulfil that promise! Let us fight to free the world - to do away with national barriers - to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness. Soldiers! in the name of democracy, let us all unite!

The Great Dictator was Chaplin’s first film with dialogue. Chaplin plays both a little Jewish barber, living in the ghetto, and Hynkel, the dictator ruler of Tomainia. In his autobiography Chaplin quotes himself as having said: “One doesn’t have to be a Jew to be anti Nazi. All one has to be is a normal decent human being.”
Chaplin and Hitler were born within a week of one another. “There was something uncanny in the resemblance between the Little Tramp and Adolf Hitler, representing opposite poles of humanity, ” writes Chaplin biographer David Robinson, reproducing an unsigned article from The Spectator dated 21st April 1939:
“Providence was in an ironical mood when, fifty years ago this week, it was ordained that Charles Chaplin and Adolf Hitler should make their entry into the world within four days of each other….Each in his own way has expressed the ideas, sentiments, aspirations of the millions of struggling citizens ground between the upper and the lower millstone of society. (…) Each has mirrored the same reality – the predicament of the “little man” in modern society. Each is a distorting mirror, the one for good, the other for untold evil.”
Chaplin spent many months drafting and re-writing the speech for the end of the film, a call for peace from the barber who has been mistaken for Hynkel. Many people criticized the speech, and thought it was superfluous to the film. Others found it uplifting. Regrettably Chaplin’s words are as relevant today as they were in 1940. "

MY OWN COMMENTS:
I would like to steward people / give them general directions with measurable reasoning without measuring too short their own individuality.
I would like to increase diversity while keeping nature as the base of humanity and basic interaction between us all since preserving planet preserves us... I would keep us suffering less of these luxuries today as they are also a liability and bigger cost to earth than it gives us satisfaction by working ever harder and paying more with spiralling crazy cost just to rent things. Not rent, property if you really live there.
I want to live by each other’s happiness and keep calm, not to rob people of their time and cause suffering as a means of control (although it works well I have to admit and people can run riot with their other 'logic' too, so in a way I don't blame people who want to keep people down... but perhaps if we can demonstrate and practice understanding, emotional intelligence, logic and reasoning THEN we can believe it's worth leaving adults unchained...)
UNITE like we do when we have a common enemy but use misunderstanding as the fuel for thought and doing things for each other.
I'm sure I'll re-write this again....
@amerika
That may seem being paradoxical, as you say, but actually it makes sense running that idea through the lens of 'Running down the planet' and accepting 'it will run out' so better make it more happier / nature based' all the while...
Inside the above you can see increasing diversity is like
- not restricting or having choke-holds on people
- making more options for people to fit in using what we already have inside as something added to current life (currently cut out a lot) making it a more sustainable in that way and diverse or just not so mono-culture!
Remember he's talk as a dictator so diversity can also mean just less Dictatorship in this kibnd of context.
As an aside... I feel and think we are more than STEM values us even he specialists. The main ways people look unto others (for profit, tech leverage, product making etc) is just not right and leads to the same circular problems. Of which I witness in project breakdowns!
Care for others and nature.
Care for others and nature currently doesn't pay but it could in theory (same as we pay people to 'just follow' orders or incentives to be mono-culture without room for question or direction towards 'happiness' in mind as company (or even happiness as government goal the same as it has 'profit and taxation' always on it's mind!).
I wouldn't choose care as something to pay for or apply to like this as 'capital' but does show what structurally it is enforced (structural violence / lack of diversity and options.
Will write more elsewhere, sorry for the aside.
It makes sense to look at cause and effect.
Diversity ends badly.
Therefore, if you like a group, do not do it to them.
"Care" means more than intentions, in other words.
@amerika
Ok. You could expand on why diversity (to various non-extreme or even incrementing levels) would end badly as you say as it's not clear.
And more about care.
Either way and for both it will end up with educating ourselves and pain like re-growing another arm or emotionally-aware leg so if badly means this kind of pain and just difference to the half-comfy now then I agree and encourage more awareness because we're not going to get away from being different or needing to respect individuals and help find them better things to do while serving / be happy to serve others.
If get a short reply here then forgive me if I step out of writing details for you. Writing does help me find more reason - and without sounding grieved by your quick response which I also value at the same time hehe!
Just makes sense to say a bit more (if you want...) else no worries I'll assume I'm right for my own reasons and not consider anything from much more from not having much reasoning to compare to :)
I elaborate on the #DQ (#DiversityQuestion) at amerika.org.
Basic idea is that innate similarity means lack of internal conflict and neurosis.
@amerika
First hashtag has only 4 posts, some in foreign language font
AND
Do you see anything under that 2nd hashtag? (I don't)
? aM i mISSIng SoMeThiNG hERe With YoUR LiNKs ?
Nope, just tagging it for future reference.
@amerika
Oh my, your site search uses Google - how poor and needs me to consent to their T's & C's.
I thought you were a bit more enlightened :/ :)
I thought it loaded fast too - maybe a bit too fast!
Thanks anyway amerika - let me know if you ever get your own search for your own site without bad goggles.
Not really down with that. Obviously my own thing and principles. [Affinity with user decreases by 3 from 10]
That's a good point. I don't like Google, but they did a better job than any other search engine.
To be honest, I haven't hit the search on that page in some time. I always use something else.
What would you recommend that is embeddable and can index all of the pages?
@amerika
"Yeah I don't like Google, but they did a better job than any other search engine." ?
What is it with people honestly !!!
^^/
SELL OUT OR WHAT !
(OR WHATEVER TERM please help me define the weakness here!)
BUT because I like your hone$ty and anyway close to unfollowing such stiff, I'll give you some tips as graceful as I am:
Err... let's see- you're using Wordpress right?
Cough... it HAS IT'S OWN search already with it (^_^)
NO NEED to change your search that comes with it to Googligoop ! :/
Are you managing it?
[get me the manager lol]
[let me work on it]
You're using something you don't want to use and you have what you need.
I'm sure I'm missing something [of course] though for life of me not many tell me WTF it is...
People who don't want / like Google just give in to it's global all-encompassing harvesting skill when they don't want it
:)
Your 1 and half chance to redeem yourself here...
Ok allow me a blowout on this one and do feel free to send me the further excuses so we can eliminate your kind from the planet! :>
Perhaps it doesn't do super-fly stuff (and increase how you principles go out the window in exchange for your shit?)
Please let me be wrong or give me access to Wordpress via DM and publicly you have my promise I'll not intentionally mess it up within 20mins. Or just do a fresh install with any wordpress
lol.
Offsite search is always going to be faster.
So which?
* Qwant
* Bing
* Brave
* Yep
* Searx
* Metacrawler
* Dogpile
I don't like Google, but I use the best tool for the job.
I don't like Microsoft, but Office is the best business suite.
Realism > trying to control the world with unrealistic principle
@amerika You're going for the wrong thing by using Google,
Always more speed or more capacity etc but with the baddie$ and it's built upon badness AND it's always cheapening things by pushing it as search on your site.
So "The Answer" is don't ask me -
Offline Office I can give you but Google search as online massive of thing for what you have I can't entertain as you're not willing.
Realism is weak people like you.
And I'm not in the habit of following willingly weak people who claim not to like it.

"I would like to increase diversity while keeping nature as the base of humanity"
Paradoxical goals there.
