Posteo.de (Ethical Email + Social Lab, German, Ecologic, Paid 1EURO)
The first German telecommunications service to publish a transparency report in 2014. Has been going for over 10 years, since 2009.
TL;DR List
* 100% green electricity from Greenpeace Energy
* All saved data can be encrypted at the click of a button
* Comprehensive encryption
* Two-factor authentication (TOTP) available
* Ad-free website, ad-free email account
* Sign up without entering personal details
* Pay anonymously by bank transfer, cash or PayPal
* Personal support at no additional charge
* No trade in customer data
* 1Euro per month
(Although I'm anti-banking smoewhat if it's easy for you then 1Euro sets a minimum and helps them fund others or setup more social things to go to)
Other hosts (for beginners probably)... but for email I need other suggestions for website
(maybe paid or exchanged email by self-hosters ?):
http://freeschool.0id.org/change-your-online-providers-better-alignment/
(and yes I realised about SMTP not being there for Tutanotal or Protonmail BUT if you have mobile then effectively it already has it's own notification and no need for SMTP for that specifically). Could be workable since that is the main thing with email (I think) more than other features.
