@fisunov This is where I see converting the culture is important - so the admin here or there also doing the educating.
Of course it can be diluted but the whole 'another platform' holds the same points so although Gargron or others can't see point of non-commercial links inside their own system undoing it all, eventually they will see the point / feel the profit-creation ! (it eventually this FROM OUR VIEW or EVEN POSITION FROM THEIR POINT OF VIEW THEY WILL COME FOR YOU / DRAG NET / FILTER US ALSO!)

So for that mini-example adding an alternative https://yewtu.be might be a step too far (not banning youtube.com links just a adding or asking in an option to filter via individious links) or even attract too much attention but either way the principle of using / tracking / harvesting Mastodon users is still there... and will catch up (they won't allow us not to use their systems and it's proven!)... maybe bad example but moving on...

I'd like to know the technical problems apart from incompatibilities which I feel have / will be ironed out (or enough still to do text which is the main part, even without formatting lol)

Even fake stuff I don't see as bad MORE than keeping focus on the positive unless it's harming u$ like the youtube links example with millions of clicks... FROM MASTODON and nobody seems to this their responsible in purely offering replacement or even just added alternative as a auto-option... basically bad work is yes bad work and alignment is inevitable (from our wants or opposition clamping down like email providers being more and more banned from non-commercial addresses)

I've suggested and continue to suggest bringing the culture up even from small pool as anything else is too defensive or feeding the rich (even from Mastodon)

Let's not make it clearly us vs them... but acknowledge it / act slowly towards limiting damage / profit and data harvesting every day from our users (even if we expect them to add filter or addon to do all the work themselves- IT'S OUR DESIGNERS RESPONSIBILITY too.

Say more how Mastodon is not working - thanks
