@brss If the modern day is really bad (can't speak for everyone) it 'could' feel in comparison to the modern that that slavery at least then seemed like some protection lol... so working hard... slavery but still your owner would defend from other people trying to steal you or you would stay in the same area and be protected... I may be looking too much on the bright side but with benevolent dictator giving me gardening work in a medium sized place I might just choose that kind of slavery and die on the field if possible... 🏝️ 🏡 🍴 🌿 🍞
