Haven't read it...
probably more to it than what is written... (which doesn't give any less sadness)
But in the department of expecting grateful kids, or not to a fake kind of peace, layered on top of lots of undealt with stuff (if this is the case) then I'm not surprised.
Of course this might be way off and
I am possibly mistaken but in writing I wanted to write something even before seeing this and this just triggered it (for a less related reply) so sorry but I think "it's all relative."
(Pardon the 'puns' on "triggered" and "relativity" but as words they seem to reflect truth in life and death).
The system doesn't care much either etc etc... and is clever at extracting from patient (parents) their energy (blood sweat and tears) so they don't drop dead but care less and less so all is even more hidden/overlooked in 1000 other ways.
I'm guessing happy people would only respond otherwise not knowing how aesthetically covered all life is to the reality.
