@bonifartius I believe we thought (and told ourself) Mastodon was safer in that way because of the other things going for it / and what it did do.
And didn't have better alternative...(is there one now that defends scraping more or officially says it on the site footer or something more proactive you know of? )
@freeschool i'd argue anything put on the net without crypto is readable by everyone.
