@richardgrant It seems to work in such basic ways close to what you say. And according to the boosts I got somewhat fav'd more than the other stuff I have pushed / created here. So yes and no need feel bad (in the case you do feel bad) if child-like or simple works for many people. It's for older children also ;)

So the approach here is to use an extra-large typeface, include some cartoon drawings, and craft the text as though you were speaking to very young children?
