I help people create audio / edit educational audio / podcast / music / visual short videos / transcript text
+ I like to add a bit humour while being quite strict in my own politics (opinions) but open / inviting for others to tell me what I should do if they can explain more than just a short comment (I don't mind it's healthy for me at least if you have logic and can stand yourself explaining).
FreeSchool is about Learning towards Freedom (which is about Uniting everyone slowly, even "1 by 1"... Easy with The Fediverse!
Not virtue signalling here only, but practise of EVERYTHING as we go. Judged by getting in contact (many have) and having courage to communicate (or seeking it from others is ok, EVERYONE needs a bit of courage or hand-holding to make big personal changes). Who else is there for example if family doesn't understand?
Learning and watching can be good and staying out of people's way, BUT better is doing something every day and helping each other with some tough decisions / lessons... and then being bold enough to do them. 1... 2... 3 that is all that's needed.

Naturally you will hesitate if someone is sure of themself or ok standing on shoulders what we copy do the best from humbly but not too sterile either.

Even a bad answer you can take best from (of course I won't know all your situation when I suggest something but I don't need to answer 100% - you also need to help me!).

VIDEO IS A CANCER
I've written about why in the past (let me know if you want specifics)
But in general I believe shutting down is best (you'll only be back to this point again).
Unless...
- some of the things really are over-taken care of (money / philanthropy for 1 year is given upfront)
- you filter the video content also to reduce the crud, but with no guarantees anyone will thank you..
Just some ideas but basically:
LARGE VIDEO IS UNSUSTAINABLE
AND UNWIELDY / TECHNICALLY BAD IN MANY WAYS (HARDWARE / MULTIPLE COPIES IN A STREAM / IGNORANT USERS / ETC).
If you can just keep locally for now or another reliable peertube instance (if your stuff is that good - send me a link if you want an opinion!)

I openly suggest constructive shaming but only after trying to sort it out but if you only get a door in your face constantly or closed loop- say it and anonymise most of it.
I understand the dangers but opt for the non-killing route of mentioning what is actually killing us (so actually the 'shaming' is the acceptance of society not being 'there yet' and it can be measurable too rather than beating up individuals... which I might add do often know what they are doing too and not innocent which is how the innocent people let this slide not wanting a fight... so it's up to us to fight nicely too to prevent such things )
The behaviour of people (society) has long gone on to actually feed the monsters or simply not allow us to be corrected also (!) which is all in the mentality, the technology (text-only talking or example can be very bad) OR just have choice to see it from other people's squabbles to do better i one's own... IT IS NOT AVOIDABLE DEAR READER!
So by my bringing it nicely out and even mentioning who (after talking with them first or for example being ignored) then it's a service somewhat or conversion from lack of elsewhere to be heard / learned from.
Long-term we see what's what in the world as signals coming to us all and *you* have a more of the reality or just skill-up and deal with it nicely when misunderstanding happens or comes to you....
Examples range from people saying excuses which directly contradict themselves or give time to others but saying they have 'no time' when clearly they have years ahead of them... then the whole not wanting to talk about it when you call their bluff...
or when they call my bluff they realise I am a real person and I ask them to talk about it and they decline.
This is basically the incremental stuff not happening in the world.
And people think it's a big fight, just can't hold themselves...
On top of that add the fires of not knowing how life is run (banks / gov tag-teaming us like pimps) and Disneyland type dreamland (about projects, marriage, you-name-it relationship) and you get a society that hasn't got a clue either who is running things or what's needed to fix it which inevitably comes out in conversation and needs better alignment.

We need to accept the bad starts we've been given.

(A CONFLICT OF INTEREST)
The phrase "a conflict of interest" comes to mind with Vulture Capitalism, much like healthcare that shouldn't be a business for obvious reasons. Just can't put price on things,,, or add debt and % on them...
Vulture Capitalists can be seen as the same mentality as banks (if not banks themselves) asking for more back without giving back.
They are just wrong.
Sort the money out.
Straighten everything.
(Even while we have a corporate job... just fill the other cups, pretend to build something else)
Not even suggesting making our own pretend money, but perhaps pretending to co-operate is actually as the main challenge - I could mention all the wrong ways and even name people mostly not here - but would you want to know even if it was you?
It's too painful perhaps to go through this... to talk...
So Capitalism it is.
Most of my life I've collected the reasons so practising knowing them for you would mean being able to practise otherwise or show others... and everything else would fall into place more often...
It's an incremental thing and not jut technology... but human nature itself and improving the mind / mentality so people don't readily accept Vultures for a Culture from kids to adults.
Expanding networks organically can be done with me breaking your back - just directly lead and also have fun organically is my suggestion. And time. Give me your time.

Guile from SF2 needs about 2 seconds to charge down to do this FLASHKICK move (so walking back or while standing can't happen unless *maybe* in a combo or 'charging' the move in some other way- standing up or walking back cancels the charge.. at least for human players!!!!!! )

tick them off one by one... then you see it exists in your opinion as it's effectively a collection of components - just not the original flag and obvious decoration on top which more obviously admits it in that more-obvious style.

It's also a technological thing... if notifications are on then it can be too much for sure...
if you're only following 2 people hell it's doable.. with or without notifications
I also found the same I was unfollowing people but now put everyone on notification and undo that instead (so I put notifications on for everyone and then take them off if they get too much)... That means I follow people but don't actually follow them unless notification turned on by clicking the bell
And me following means I just have a "I like list" and I never look at the home tab for all those fragmented messages all piled under each other... I use notifications and a live feed comes in and interaction chosen on the spot (if you're computer) and comments are not piled up ever in the future! I just look at people's stuff on the fly and reply!... a lot more relative and focussed... helps if on desktop a lot
So follow with notifications means giving people a few days / a week then take off notifications and letting them have a follower count even though really by accident I'll ever see them again.
Follow is just a number it's not an active measured count, or relevant always. much like many counters which don't show how much of a video someone see, just counts you were there for a moment... so following with notifications is more actual following I think unless you can balance 50+ people you follow (sometimes hundred) all mixed in together in your home tabs (also being notified shows one chain of thought or project, not a mishmash later). This all helps with feeling ok about people and even ignoring posts that are not needed and wait for the good (it pops up on screen and unless it's long I can read it right away on screen thus saving another click....

Quality human interaction doesn't have to be too deep - just listening and talking to each other seems quite enough even with light moderator around.
Agree about the socio-technical aspects and advantages of smallness too and "Small is huge" idea based on "Small is Beautiful".
I often wonder "where are the circles of speakers and listeners to go to?".
So rather than wait for catching people after festivals or after FOSSDEM23 I'm think "where is a place to huddle around regularly?" like we did around the corner shiop after school or after work
and share at any level...?
Possibly now most of it is about coding or not daring to talk outside of your class (forgive the pub) so as social or societal change this can remain constant at unchanging as a direct result of staying only within colleagues...
I can see the coding groups are strong but in the land of text or human feeling, not really doing the work of talking so often. (unless there is some secret society going on!)
So we can fall short (of each other) in relationships when not easy-going about random contact.
Also during testing times why projects can fail *instantly* is communication itself or lack of it so this allow gentle and incremental approach.
So I seem to think talking more often with 'random / mutual' folks in a circle (inside Mastodon as safer larger circle) is the way to actually help all these scenarios and situations to see from other viewpoints much sooner than people disconnecting or that it's all there is as ultimatum or just agreeing or not agreeing.
Circles can be with loose moderation and setup how they are comfortable to jump in and try.
